Adorable moment Kate Middleton delights schoolchildren by high-fiving them during surprise visit – before joking ‘is anyone in lessons?’

Kate Middleton delighted schoolchildren as she greeted them with high fives during a surprise visit in Hull yesterday.

The Princess of Wales, 41, approached a crowd of screaming students before joking: “Anyone got a lesson?” a video shared on TikTok shows.

After leaving the Allam Sports Centre, where she took part in training with the World Cup-winning England wheelchair rugby team, the royal attended a local school.

While she was there, she high-fived the students and told them she had to “come say hi” because she “saw them waving.”

The clip was shared on TikTok by 13-year-old Howard who happily wrote: “Princess Kate came to my school.”

In the clip, Kate, dressed in sports kit, approaches the children and jokes: “Anyone got a lesson?”

Then she adds, “Oh, it’s lunch time. I came back because I saw everyone here waving goodbye and I said I wanted to come and say hello to you all.

‘I’m in my gym clothes, I’ve tried wheelchair rugby, has anyone tried that before?’

After someone asked, “Kate, can I please have a high five?” The princess gave the crowd a high five, even with her fingers bandaged, after she was injured on a trampoline a few weeks ago.

Earlier in the day she headed out to meet players from the Disability Rugby League, where she took part in training with the World Cup-winning England wheelchair rugby team.

The mother of three chatted with team members before a young boy innocently snuck up behind her to tickle her waist.

After causing a moment of alarm, the princess turned around and saw that it was a cheeky rugby player having a bit of fun.

In the video you hear Kate say: ‘Anyone have lessons? Oh, it’s lunch time. I came back because I saw everyone here waving goodbye and I said I wanted to come and say hello to you all.”

Kate quickly introduced herself to the enthusiastic player and shook his hand, beaming at him.

The clip started with Kate having a sweet conversation with a team member after greeting him with a handshake.

But another player quickly stole the spotlight by shouting ‘boo’ and tickling the princess’ waist.

After the initial shock, Kate quickly found light in the situation and turned to shake the young gentleman’s hand with a wide grin on her face.

The interaction was just one of many fun moments the royal family enjoyed during their action-packed engagement today.

And she was certainly dressed for action: while Kate has opted for sophisticated suits of late, she instead wore her navy blue Rugby League polo shirt and track pants with white sneakers for the occasion.

But despite her casual attire, Kate still brought the glamor with perfectly coiffed hair and a beautiful makeup look.

After meeting the players, the royal joined in and played in a match – despite still having a hand injury from trampolining with her children. Her affected hand was wrapped in bandages.

Before heading to court, the princess told a team member: “I’m worried about my finger, but I want to try.”

The bandages appear to be a precautionary measure following her injury earlier this month, when she damaged her fingers while trampolining with Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis at their Windsor home.

But she certainly gave it her all and became so engrossed in the action during one match that she almost bumped into one of the posts and threw her arms out to brace herself against the blow.

The royal showed off her sporty side and didn’t let her apparent injuries hold her back as she entered the competition.

The royal first ran around passing the ball to the rugby team, before playing the wheelchair match with the English Wheelchair Rugby League – and quickly celebrating a score.
