Adidas has removed a social media post mocking Kevin Durant, calling the NBA star “dusty” and joking that he is about to retire.

The now-deleted comment on X, formerly known as Twitter, was in response to Durant's own post about how he wouldn't wear Anthony Edwards' Adidas sneaker.

The Minnesota Timberwolves rising star signed a deal with the German sneaker manufacturer to release his own signature range.

The AE 1 collection will be available later this year, and Edwards recently said that if he had to pick one NBA player to wear his sneakers, he would choose Durant.

Edwards told Nice Kicks “KD,” when asked who he would like to see in his shoes. 'Yes, and him with Nike. I want to see him put this on sometime in the game.”

Adidas has removed a social media post that mocked Kevin Durant and called the NBA star “dusty.”

The former Warriors and Nets player immediately dismissed it, posting on social media: “I will NEVER be seen dipping a big toe in, Mfers.”

But someone at Adidas didn't take the criticism well and hit back at Durant's post with a cutting response.

It said: 'You dusty bouta will retire soon anyway'.

The post was quickly deleted before the Adidas account replied to Durant again, saying, “I was supposed to send that from the burner account.”

Durant became just the third NBA player to sign a lifetime Nike deal earlier this year.

Only Michael Jordan and LeBron James have similar terms.
