It was as if the dramas of the past ten months had never happened. When Adele took the stage at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace on Friday night to finally begin her Las Vegas residency, the cheers were so deafening you could almost hear the sky fall.
Dressed in a beautiful black dress, she might as well have been wearing sackcloth and ashes, she was so remorseful.
“I’m sorry I broke your heart,” she sang with feeling, as she launched into her opening number Hello. And as her fans screamed, she promptly dissolved into a pool of tears.

Support: The Someone Like You hitmaker, 34, also had the support of her boyfriend Rich Paul, 40, who looked dapper in a black suit as he sat in the audience watching her perform, before the star later shared a kiss with her beau
It was the first of many emotional moments for the 34-year-old from London — and full credit goes to her makeup artist who made sure her flawless looks didn’t falter during one of Adele’s crying moments.
“I should give you a standing ovation,” she told her fans. “Thank you so much for coming back to me.”
The singer, who tearfully canceled her scheduled concerts at the last minute in January, managed to get through the two-hour, 20-song set in front of the nearly 4,100 spectators without any disruption.
During the spectacular show it rained, a piano was ‘set on fire’ on a waterbed and Adele shot T-shirts into the room with a plastic gun.
While she previously placed some of the blame on crew members suffering from Covid for delaying the original dates, she later claimed she was unhappy with the extravagant scale of the production.

It is believed she earns around £800,000 per night for the 32 night run. Favorites including Chasing Pavements and Rolling In The Deep aired, but the loudest cheers came as the screens lifted behind her to reveal the 24-piece string section and she called out Skyfall in true Bond-themed fashion.
Alicia Walker, 40, from Alaska, who said she lost about £1,500 on flights and hotels in January, said: ‘Her music helped me out of my depression so I feel indebted to her for helping me through some tough times . And yes, after this I forgive her.’
When the singer finished her set, almost everyone in the audience had forgiven her. Heart-shaped confetti rained down and as she disappeared through a hatch in a hail of pink glitter, she silhouetted in typical fashion. “I have no idea what I’m getting into for five months,” she said, “but I can’t wait.”
