Adele puts her Las Vegas show on hold to scold a security guard for tangling with a fan for ‘standing up’ at his seat: ‘Why are you all bothering him?’

Adele was not afraid to interrupt her concert on Saturday after she saw a security guard approaching one of her fans for apparently no good reason.

The 35-year-old singer interrupted her Aug. 26 concert in Las Vegas while performing her hit single Water Under the Bridge to warn a security guard about harassing a male fan who had risen from his seat in the audience.

The singer – who recently revealed she collapsed after one of her residency shows due to a sciatica attack – received praise from fans on social media after a video of her defending the fan went viral.

On footage of the incident, Adele could be heard saying to the unidentified security guard, “What’s up with that young fan who’s been so worried since I filled in because he stood up?” What’s the matter with him? Yes, you, with your hand up, yes you!’

Not satisfied with the guard’s response, which was drowned out by the loud cheers of the many other concertgoers, the 16-time Grammy winner continued to yell at the guard to “leave the fan alone.”

As the cheers and screams died down, the British singer addressed the audience and said, ‘Sorry guys. (That fan has) been bothered the whole show by security and other people who were behind him. He’s here to have fun. You’re all here to have fun.’

She resumed the show and the band started playing Water Under the Bridge again. The incident forced the Oscar-winning singer to start the song at the very top.

Several video clips of Adele’s actions quickly went viral on social media, with many of her fans taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share their reactions.

The majority of Adele’s fans called her a “queen,” while others called her “mom.”

Twitter user @kp_official_1 said, “Queen behavior followed by bop relapses. I’m leaning towards Stan.’

Meanwhile, Twitter user @daydreamerdutch wrote in a quote Tweet, “Adele helps a fan by saying what needs to be said.” She also included a photo of a sign at the concert venue, encouraging fans to stand up during the show.

Several other fans took the opportunity to joke with the security guard calling out Adele. Twitter user @ladidaix wrote, “The guard must have been embarrassed by 💀.”

Adele’s Aug. 26 show in Las Vegas is part of her ongoing “Weekends with Adele” residency at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace.

Weekends with Adele is the singer’s first-ever Las Vegas Concert Residency and consists of a five-month series of Friday and Saturday night shows. Adele’s residency began on November 18, 2022 and will end on November 4, 2023.
