Adele reveals she’s been forced to POSTPONE the next leg of her Las Vegas residency after sickness ‘took a toll on her voice’ – days after ‘stressed’ star was placed on vocal rest

Adele has revealed she has been forced to postpone the next dates of her Las Vegas residency after illness ‘took a toll on her voice.’

Days after revealing she had been placed on vocal rest, the 35-year-old singer shared the sad news that all ten of her shows in March would be postponed to a later date after she was ordered to rest.

Adele will complete her Las Vegas residency at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace in June and is expected to earn around £1.5million per show.

Post a statement on Instagram. Adele wrote: ‘Unfortunately I have to wait a while and pause my Vegas residency. I was sick at the end of the last stage and the whole break.

“I hadn’t quite had the chance to get back to full health before the shows resumed and now I’m sick again, and unfortunately that’s taken its toll on my voice.

The singer shared the sad news that all ten of her shows in March would be postponed to a later date after she was ordered to rest on ‘doctor’s orders’.

‘And so, according to doctor’s orders, I have no choice but to rest thoroughly. The remaining five weeks of this stage will be postponed to a later date.

“We are already working out the details and you will receive the information as soon as possible.”

Adele listed the dates of her residency that would be postponed, including every weekend in March.

Over the weekend, Adele revealed she was taking several days of vocal rest after experiencing a scare during her Las Vegas residency.

Stressed and emotional Adele complained of voice problems, which made her sound like the cartoon villain ‘Ursula’ from The Little Mermaid.

The Londoner apologized to the crowd at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace and admitted she was worried about taking notes due to a breast problem.

However, the self-confessed motormouth, 35, will have to ‘lock herself up’ to stop talking to her gregarious son and partner Rich Paul.

Adele, who underwent surgery for polyps in her throat in 2011, expressed concerns about her performance at the start of the show on Saturday evening.

The star, who has battled cord issues in the past, admitted: ‘In the middle of last night – I’m sure you can hear it a little bit in my speaking voice and my singing voice. Your girl was tired. I didn’t sleep very well…

“And Ursula from the ocean came out of my chest tonight. I can’t hit my main notes properly. I haven’t been sleeping well and my chest is on fire. I’m sure I’ll be drinking coffee in ten days, but I’m still here.”

She added that she was happy that the crowd’s “energy” was so positive that it helped her mood.

But then she stated, “Right after this show, I’m going on vocal rest. Can you imagine how hard it is if I don’t talk for three days? So I lie in bed and cough up my intestines with complete voice rest…

‘And not only is my partner a real chatterbox, but so is my son. So I’ll have to lock myself in a cupboard or something like that.’

Adele lasted 100 minutes in her song, often drinking honey and hot water between songs.

As she welled up on stage, Adele appeared to be feeling slightly better, but acknowledged her voice problems as she ended the sold-out show: “My voice came back about four songs ago…

‘You’ve been great. The show. Thank you, thank you love, magical, magical, all from the moment it comes together. I’m so glad you had a good time. I look crazy, I feel crazy… I’m going on voice rest.’

Adele still has twenty shows in Vegas before she heads to Munich for summer stadium performances. Her last world tour, Adele Live, saw her cancel her final two shows at Wembley Stadium in 2017 due to vocal concerns.

She underwent vocal cord surgery in October 2011 to relieve recurring bleeding caused by a benign polyp.

Last month, Adele reportedly revealed to fans that she collapsed backstage before a performance due to a sciatica attack, according to The Sun.

She reportedly told fans: “They took my whole body off the floor.”

Adele was also forced to sit down during her Weekends With Adele performance, explaining: “I’m going to sit down and rest my sciatica.”

Sciatica is a debilitating back condition that normally occurs due to a herniated disc, which presses on the sciatic nerve that runs from the lower back to the foot.

It can cause shooting pains and a feeling of cramping and can be so severe that a person can no longer walk.

Earlier this year, Adele described her chronic back pain during another show in Las Vegas as she hobbled across the stage.

Talking to the audience while firing T-shirts into the crowd with a hand cannon, she said, “I have two more, I just have to get to the other side of the stage.”

“I have to waddle these days because I’m really suffering from sciatica,” Adele added in the video obtained by the Daily Star.

Adele has previously discussed being in pain for ‘half her life’ before losing weight, and how her body overhaul has helped her cope with her problems.

The Grammy winner began her Vegas residency in November 2022, after shows were postponed by almost a year.

Just hours before she was due to start her residency in January that year, Adele revealed that the shows had been postponed, sparking an uproar among fans.

Adele’s first video revealing the show would not go ahead sparked pandemonium for fans who had already traveled to Vegas for the first shows just before the last-minute announcement.

The Grammy Award-winning singer cried as she explained to fans that she had “tried everything” to get her show on but Covid had “destroyed” everything.

She said in a video shared on her social media channels: “I’m so sorry but my show isn’t done yet.

‘We’ve tried absolutely everything to get it together in time and to make it good enough for you, but we’ve been absolutely devastated by delivery delays and Covid.

“Half my crew and team are (sick) with Covid and still are, and it was impossible.”

Although she claimed in her tearful video that many of the people in her team had contracted Covid-19, which delayed preparations at the worst possible time, subsequent reporting revealed that the hitmaker was not happy with the show.

Several sources claimed that the British star had issues with the set design, and they chose a pool on stage for her to sing in front of during one of the songs.

“When she saw the finished design she refused to take part,” an insider told The Sun. ‘Adele described the pool as a ‘baggy old pond’ and flatly refused to stand in the middle of it.

‘The intention was to fill it with water on set while she was lifted on a crane-like mechanism, creating the illusion that she was floating on water.’

“There just wasn’t any soul in it,” she admitted to Elle in August of that year. ‘The stage setup was wrong. It was very disconnected from me and my band, and it lacked intimacy. And maybe I tried too hard to give it those things in such a controlled environment.”

Although she initially felt “ashamed” after the failure, she eventually found a way to be “proud” of herself for putting on the best show possible.

“The first few months were very, very difficult,” she said. ‘I was humiliated. But it actually made my confidence in myself grow, because it was a very courageous thing to do. And I don’t think many people would have done what I did. I am very proud of myself for supporting my artistic needs.”

Just hours before her first show was due to take place, Adele caused an uproar among fans by postponing her residency, with sources claiming she was unhappy with the staging.

Just hours before her first show was due to take place, Adele caused an uproar among fans by postponing her residency, with sources claiming she was unhappy with the staging.

The shows were originally scheduled for the Coliseum at Caesars Palace in Vegas, but after the postponement, rumors swirled that Adele (full name: Adele Adkins) would try to move the show to a larger venue, although it is still owned by Caesars.

However, it was revealed that it was left in place when the final dates were announced.

Even before her tearful announcement that the shows were temporarily canceled, Adele fans were furious after pre-sale tickets sold through Ticketmaster sold out in minutes.

Options in the resale market were ruled out for many fans as ticket prices were inflated to between $1,000 and $37,000 dollars.
