Adele has boasted about her love of booze which means she can now ‘drink anyone under the damn table’ as she opened up about her struggle to stay grounded during her shows.

The 35-year-old singing sensation, who has been sober on and off for 18 months, also revealed that she has decided to end her self-imposed alcohol ban.

She imposed sobering restrictions on herself for her Vegas residency at the Colosseum Caesar Palace, saying red wine ruins her voice.

And with a break on the horizon, Adele has revealed she’s ready to grab a glass of wine, saying she’s still a rock star and can drink anyone under the table.

Speaking to the crowd in Las Vegas, she said: ‘I like a drink. I can’t lie. (I’ve) definitely scaled it back, especially since becoming a mother and a professional artist, but I could easily, easily, easily drink any of you under the damn table.

‘And maybe it’s the Brit in me. But the stability that this has given to some basically rock stars working, including the crew and people like that, is unprecedented. And it has given us peace of mind.”

But the London-born sensation, who lives in Los Angeles, said sobriety has calmed her down, but she now worries about becoming overstimulated by life.

She admitted that she started watching Harry Potter films to keep herself in check, as she says she lives a ‘ping, pong’ lifestyle.

“As a musician, even singing piano ballads, you’re a bit of a rock star,” she added.

“I’m sorry, because the kind of lifestyle you end up living, like ‘ping, pong, ping, pong,’ we’re all addicted to something.”

Adele, the best-selling British artist of the 21st century, opened up candidly to her captivated audience when she confessed that she also has a phone ban.

She revealed she had been living a ‘quite boring’ life, but said she had to give up her mobile phone because she was overstimulated and ‘hanging by a thread’.

“I thought if I went back and lived in fake stories and stuff like that, like Harry Potter and wizards and stuff like that, maybe I could get my innocence back because I’m exhausted,” she added.

“I’m absolutely exhausted with how quickly everything is happening. I can not handle it.’

Last year, the Oscar winner admitted that her tolerance for her beloved Vino had drastically decreased.

Adele started her drinking battle, telling the crowd: ‘I stopped drinking but now I’m obviously ready to start again because it’s my break.

“And I can never drink red wine when I’m singing, because I don’t know about you, but red wine kills me. I can not handle it. I’m a white wine girl, but not straight.

‘But I can’t drink white wine anymore. I’m 35 going on 85 ‘I gotta have half and half.

‘Half sparkling water and half white wine with ice. Half sparkling water and half white wine with ice.

“And I’m still getting damned. But a glass of red wine sends me over the edge. I have the worst hangover, my whole mouth and tongue are turning red.

“I look like a disaster and it just eliminates my voice.”

In October, Adele revealed she had stopped drinking for three and a half months and claimed she was a “borderline alcoholic” in her 20s.’

Adele told the audience during one of her Vegas performances: “I stopped drinking maybe three and a half months ago. It’s boring. I mean, I was literally a borderline alcoholic for much of my twenties, but I miss it so much. I cut out the caffeine.”

‘So enjoy your whiskey sour. “I’m very jealous,” she added.

In March, Adele also revealed she once drank four bottles of wine for lunch during a Covid-19 lockdown.

She held a glass of wine on stage in Las Vegas as she made the confession.

The blonde beauty told fans: ‘I remember when I came here in Covid, in lockdown, it was 11am and I was at least four bottles of wine in – as we all were.

‘I said in 2020 that I wanted to release my album. And we were all basically drunk at home.”

In 2023, Adele told Oprah Winfrey during a CBS interview that she “quit drinking” in the wake of her estranged father, Mark Evans, dying of colon cancer in May 2021.

Adele, who lost more than seven stone after cutting the booze from her diet, said: ‘I stopped drinking.

“That’s a great way to really get to know yourself, just drinking water and being sober.”

The hitmaker has reportedly said her Las Vegas residency has ‘brought me back to life’ after confirming she would be extending her career.

She opened up to her fans and reportedly admitted that the show had been the highlight of her career.

According to The sun, she said, “I feel so safe here. My life is small. I don’t really leave my house and that’s a choice. My life was huge when I was younger. But it’s like the bigger my career has gotten, the more scared and anxious I’ve become.”

‘I hang out with my dogs, my son and my boyfriend, and chat with my housekeeper. On Fridays and Saturdays I really look forward to coming (to Vegas) and I feel like I’m having a night out and seeing my friends. It brought me back to life.”

She added, “Usually I get butterflies and get nervous and say a little stage prayer and cross my fingers, but I don’t get nervous at these shows. It was the best four months of my career. This show has brought me so much joy. I did it with pleasure.’

But Adele’s decision to quit drinking wasn’t an overnight choice, as she’s had some tough encounters in the past where she had one too many.

In February 2022, a drunken Adele was left sobbing after drinking too much at a gay bar in London.

She stripped down to her bra, danced on stage in front of topless dancers and fell over.
