Adelaide toddler drowned in creek after looking for Easter eggs
Gripping video emerges of toddler who died one day after being pulled unconscious from a creek – as the heartbreaking reason he and his brother went astray is revealed

An Easter egg hunt turned into tragedy when a one-year-old boy fell into a stream and later died.
The toddler was pulled unconscious from the Little Para River near Paralowie in northern Adelaide around 9am on Sunday morning.
Despite the efforts of paramedics, who resuscitated the boy, he died Monday afternoon at Women’s and Children’s Hospital.
CCTV footage captured on Sunday morning shows the boy and what is believed to be his older brother wandering down the street towards the creek, which was 300 meters away, apparently looking for Easter eggs.
Soon after, the boy’s parents began a frantic search for their children and were in such a panicked state that they crashed their black Hyundai IX35 into a ditch.

Neighbor Trista Koleff told 7News they witnessed the devastating scene after the boy was found.
“I came out and I saw (an) ambulance resuscitating the child,” Ms Koleff said.
“When I saw the mother crying like that, I had to go inside. It was traumatic for me, it really scared me.’
Another neighbor Ryan Nuske told Adelaide advertiser he saw the ‘father walking down the street in a panic’.
“When I got there, he (the boy) had just pulled out of the water,” he said.

The stream, which is normally dry, only flowed because 11 millimeters of rain had fallen in the past three consecutive days.
Salisbury City Mayor Gillian Aldridge has resisted calls to fence off the creek, saying people should always exercise caution when children are around water.
A single red rose has been left as a memorial at the spot where the family car drove up the embankment.
Police said a report will be prepared for the coroner.
