Aussie woman spotted walking her robot dog on a leash

A woman has caused a stir at a water park after she was spotted walking her leashed robot dog around the establishment.

The woman and her four-legged friend were spotted roaming the streets of Glenelg, Adelaide, in a video posted by Just Adelaide Things on Thursday.

Curious onlookers began filming the strange sight as she casually crossed the road as her Unitree Go2 robot passed by.

Two strangers couldn’t resist setting a record when the robot dog lagged behind its owner, who accelerated it by quickly pulling on the leash.

Unitree Go2’s retail price starts at AU$2,500 and promises users “scientific and technological sovereignty” with its “embodied AI.”

The woman in the video used the device’s “leash mode,” which allows the robot dog to imitate the actions of a real dog while being led by a leash.

Entering The Beachouse was permitted because the venue does not have a ‘no pets’ policy as long as the animal does not cause a fuss, an employee told Daily Mail Australia.

Because the timid robot cautiously stayed behind its owner in the building, he was allowed to stay.

In November, another robot dog was filmed walking through Adelaide’s CBD

Curious social media users were baffled that anyone would go to the trouble of taking a robot dog for a walk.

“The thing I just can’t get past is that she looks like an old suburban grandma… what I can’t see,” one person wrote.

“Why is she walking on her bedside table,” someone said.

“I certainly welcome our robot dog overlords,” a second joked.

“Are there batteries in it,” a third asked.

Another video filmed in Adelaide’s CBD showed another robot dog being walked through a busy Rundle Mall in November.

“Rundle Mall just got a software update,” the video captioned.

“We really should go to Adelaide more often,” read the top comment.
