Adelaide Postie hailed ‘hero of the day’ after he stepped in as a hoon did burnouts in a suburban park

Adelaide Postie was named ‘hero of the day’ after intervening when a hoon was doing burnouts in a suburban park

A postman has been hailed as a ‘hero’ for confronting a hoon who was doing burnouts in a park while driving a highly modified, unregistered car.

Footage captured by local woman Susan Lacey shows the revhead driving recklessly in a white car with both Holden and Ford badges and a homemade license plate reading ‘EL FORTE’ with the location ‘Mexico – the burnout state’ .

The postman on his daily route near the Elizabeth South train station, in Adelaide’s northeast, approached the man on Wednesday morning and recorded the incident on his phone before the car became stuck on the soft ground.

The taunt quickly left the car with a hood over his head, while the postman called him a “damn idiot.”

“Why would you do that for size?” the postman asks the driver shortly after his vehicle came to a stop.

The driver jumps out of the car and attacks the postman who was still on his motorcycle, causing him to fall off.

The jeer then took the time to laugh while the postman was still on the ground.

“You’re the one who tripped you,” the driver shouted as he ran away, leaving his car behind.

Ms Lacey praised the postman for putting himself in danger.

“You don’t know what these people can do to us if we stand our ground and protect the neighborhood,” Ms. Lacey said.

She then praised the postman, describing him as “the hero of the day” for his efforts.
