A mother has died in a horrific car accident after a late-night drive to a gas station ended in tragedy.
Police and emergency services rushed to North East Road in Windsor Gardens, northeast of Adelaide, around 10pm Saturday after a Ford Mustang and a Holden station wagon collided.
Christine Sandford – from Windsor Gardens – who was driving the station wagon was killed in a collision after leaving the service station as her car spun across several lanes.
Home CCTV footage captured some of the last words the 40-year-old mother uttered before she left.
“I’m going to the servo to get some oil, because I need food,” you hear her say to her roommates.

Prior to the crash, the Ford Mustang was reportedly seen speeding and weaving in and out of traffic.
The 22-year-old man who was reportedly behind the wheel of the sports car was released on bail on Sunday after being charged with dangerous driving resulting in death.
Drivers who witnessed the accident tried to help the victims at the scene before emergency services arrived.
But Mrs. Sandford could not be brought back to life and died on the spot.
“We heard a loud bang,” a neighbor told The Advertiser.
“We’ve heard crashes here before, but it seemed much bigger than usual.”

Another neighbor called the incident “terrifying.”
Police said the alleged driver was not injured in the accident and is due to appear before Adelaide Magistrates Court on May 31.
Ms Sandford’s death is the 35th life lost on South Australian roads so far this year, compared to 16 at the same time last year.
Anyone who witnessed the accident or has dashcam footage that could help with the investigation is asked to contact police immediately.
