A man is said to have been almost eight times over the blood alcohol limit while driving under the influence of alcohol and crashed into a parked car while a child was in the car.
The terrifying crash happened on Jamieson Road in Blakeview, about 50 kilometers northeast of Adelaide, about 3.40pm on Thursday.
South Australia Police officers were called to the scene after reports a Toyota Camry rammed into a parked car.
A man was reportedly eight times over the blood alcohol limit when he crashed his car into a parked car in Adelaide’s north on Thursday.
The driver of the Camry allegedly continued driving after the crash while three passengers were in the parked vehicle.
None of the passengers were injured in the crash.
A witness told police that a young child was in the Camry at the time, but he was not injured during the crash.
Police tracked down the alleged driver a short time later to a property in nearby Elizabeth Park before officers administered a breath test.
The 38-year-old man is said to have reported a blood alcohol level of 0.389, almost eight times more than the legal limit.

The man had his driver’s license revoked on the spot for 12 months and was charged with failing to provide his details after the accident and for alleged drink driving.
He is also charged with driving without due care.
The Camry has been seized and will remain there for 28 days.
The man will appear before the Elizabeth Magistrates Court on a date yet to be determined.
