Adelaide Christie Downs IGA: A woman’s wild frenzy at the supermarket was caught on CCTV after she was accused of shoplifting
In shocking security footage, a cheeky shopper has been caught dancing down the aisles of her local supermarket after allegedly stealing items before getting into a fight with security.
The woman, barefoot and dressed all in black, is seen walking the aisles of the IGA at Christie Downs in Adelaide around 2pm on Wednesday, putting items in her basket.
The 36-year-old walks straight past the register and out of the store, supposedly without paying, then tries her luck a second time and comes back for more items, as seen on the CCTV obtained by 9News.
She is then chased around the supermarket by staff before a violent scuffle ensues at the counter, with the woman gesturing and punching anyone who comes near her.
The customer then erratically asks about cigarettes, while employees try to end the wild frenzy by making a civilian arrest.
The woman escapes the clutches of the workers, escapes the store and is locked out.
Amazingly, her rage doesn’t stop as the woman’s escapade continues down the street and across a busy highway – narrowly missing oncoming traffic – as the police arrive.
The shopper was eventually stopped when she was apprehended by police on Flaxmill Road.
