For many people, being without their phone for even a few minutes feels like an eternity.
If your phone addiction is getting too much, there’s good news: help is at hand.
The world’s first ‘chastity belt for your phone’ has been unveiled, promising to ‘protect you from temptation’.

“You hang it above your phone and give the key to someone you trust,” explains Lindsay Stevens, a spokesperson for The Coach. “It protects you from temptation.”

Chastity belts were devices worn by women in the Middle Ages to prevent unwanted advances and sexual temptation.
The Coach took his inspiration from these devices, but in a modern guise.
The new chastity belt isn’t just for women, it can be fastened over the front of your phone and is secured with a key, which you can then give to someone you trust.
Unlike traditional phone cases, which come in different sizes to fit different models, the chastity belt has leather straps that you can adjust to fit your device.
The first version is designed for smartphones, but according to The Coach, other versions are possible in the future.

‘The Coach has also ordered versions of the design that will fit both laptops and desktops, while the version for your phone will be available in both ‘landscape’ (wider than tall) and ‘portrait’ (taller than wide) formats,’ it explained.

The new devices are expected to retail for around $100 (£78).
“At this point, The Coach is just testing the market by releasing a product video and images and gauging reactions,” the team said.
The launch comes shortly after a poll found British adults are more addicted to their phones than adults in France, Germany and America.
A representative poll of 8,000 people found that 44 percent of adults in the UK check their phones every hour, compared with 29 percent in France, 25 percent in Germany and 41 percent in America.
The research, conducted by think tank More In Common, also found that 14 percent of British adults do not look at their phones for more than 15 minutes.
