Berwick, Victoria: Tragedy as hardworking husband is crushed to death while at work

Friends of a man killed in a workplace tragedy say he was the sole breadwinner for his wife in Melbourne and his parents in India.

Adarsh Rajput died in a horrific work accident at a construction site on Santorini Parade in Berwick, 47km south-east of Melbourne’s CBD, on Friday, March 1 at around 1pm.

The 28-year-old was unloading wood alone when the crane’s arm, known as a boom, suddenly crushed him, causing fatal injuries.

Mr Rajput’s friend Arshdeep Singh now has one GoFundMe page to help his family cover funeral and ceremonial costs.

“He left behind a wife and his parents,” Singh said. “He was the only support for his family.”
