He told The Mirror: “I’m sure Cheryl felt the pressure but after years in the industry I think she’s quite fearless.

“It’s quite remarkable to see someone who’s never acted before come on stage in the West End, she’s in the spotlight, with all that pressure.

‘It’s pretty amazing how tough it is, really. And she’s giving amazing performances, people are in awe of how good she is.

Jake, who originally played Ben opposite pop star Lily Allen, 37, in 2021, opened up about how some people were closed-minded when it came to Cheryl appearing in the production.

He said “certain areas” feel “some people should stay in their boxes,” but he thinks it’s a positive move for people to “diversify.”

The former soap opera star acknowledged that performing in a theater in front of “a few hundred” people is like water out of a duck’s back for pop stars who have played to packed stadiums with thousands of fans.

Meanwhile, Jake said Cheryl laughed while performing in 2:22 A Ghost Story, and the pair “got in trouble for laughing pretty often.”

Cheryl replaced TV presenter Laura Whitmore when she joined the new cast of the show, which runs at the Lyric Theater through April 23, with Horrible Histories actress Louise Ford as Lauren and stage star Scott Karim as Sam. .

Appearing on Good Morning Britain this week, Jake was recently investigated for his ‘mischievous’ behavior on stage, resulting in former Popstars: The Rivals contestant Cheryl being ‘corpse’ on stage.

He said: ‘Everything is new to Cheryl, she didn’t know what corpsing was, corpsing is when you laugh on stage.

We are getting in trouble for laughing too often.

“It’s part of the show and the characters, and even though it’s very scary, there are some very funny moments, so just try to stay in the moment.”

“When the public enjoys it, it is difficult to keep a straight face. You catch someone’s eye and you just know someone is about to leave.

You can’t look at them again for the next five minutes.

He said that Cheryl, who has been performing for a total of four weeks, has had “amazing reviews” and is “unbelievable.”
