Adam Thomas’ appearance on this week’s Strictly Come Dancing is in jeopardy as bosses make ‘unforeseen arrangements’ at the last minute.
The Emmerdale actor, 35, was forced to cancel his appearance in BBC spin-off It Takes Two due to medical reasons.
A spokesperson for Strictly told MailOnline that ‘the health and wellbeing of the cast’ is an ‘absolute priority’ and plans are being made in case Adam is too ill to perform on Saturday’s Halloween special.
Adam was scheduled to appear on It Takes Two with his dance partner Luba Mushtuk on Friday.
However, the professional dancer arrived solo and explained that Adam was absent for medical reasons.

Host Fleur East told viewers: “Unfortunately Adam is feeling a bit bad, but please call the beautiful Luba Mushtuk.”
Luba then told the shocked viewers: “It’s so strange to be here alone.”
‘He’s resting now. He just wasn’t feeling well, but he’s resting and getting ready for tomorrow night.”
Adam will take to the stage again this weekend and perform a horror-themed routine for Halloween.
The no-show comes after Adam admitted on Instagram earlier this week that he finds it ‘difficult’ leaving his happy family behind when he heads off to train in the early hours of the morning.
He captioned a sweet photo of his wife and daughter with, “Leaving these two peas in a pod/bed was hard! Like Mother like daughter. Even though she may look like her mother she looks a lot more like me ahhaha don’t know if that’s good or bad haha bless her x’
Last week Adam broke his silence after his emotional Strictly dance on Saturday – after a week of ‘setbacks’ including a ban on rehearsals over fears of a flu outbreak.
The actor scored 32 points during Saturday night’s show, earning a nine for the first time for his Couple’s Choice to Backstreet Boys Medley with professional partner Luba.

A difficult week followed for the star, who was forced to miss rehearsals and had ‘less time’ to train.
Adam revealed he was ‘proud’ of the performance as he praised his ‘beautiful partner in crime’ Luba.
He wrote on Instagram: ‘Wow, what an unforgettable evening I spent with this one again!!!
‘With a few setbacks this week leading up to the show, I have to say I’m proud of the performance we’ve achieved!
‘We went there last night and gave it everything we had! I feel like I’m improving week by week and becoming more comfortable and confident with each show! and that’s crazy because I feel like I get less time to train.
‘I know I’m not the best dancer, but I’m a contender and I’m going to give 110% every chance I get!
‘Thank you again to my beautiful partner in crime, without whom I would be lost!! I love having you by my side ❤️’.
And on her Instagram Story, Luba added: ‘We just did it! And we have a nine!’
An excited Adam added: “We got a nine! My first nine. And Luba’s very first nine! Oh my, what a night!’
Adam looked emotional as he was praised by the judges during Saturday’s live episode of the show.
