Adam Peaty’s ex-girlfriend Eirianedd Munro shared a sweet, encouraging message after the swimmer won a silver medal at the Paris Olympics on Sunday night.
She watched the event at home and saw Italian underdog Nicolo Martinenghi beat 29-year-old Adam in the 100-meter breaststroke final by just 0.02 seconds.
The couple’s three-year-old son George was in the stands with Adam’s new girlfriend Holly Ramsay, 24, the daughter of TV chef Gordon.
And although Eiri, who retired from the swimmer in 2022, was not in Paris, she posted a sweet message on Instagram saying George was “so proud of him.”
She wrote: ‘Congratulations Adam. George is so proud of you! He doesn’t see the value of a medal but the absolute strength and determination you gave him.’

While Eiri – who divorced the swimmer in 2022 – was away from Paris, she posted a sweet message on Instagram saying their son George was ‘so proud of him’ (seen together)
“These are the qualities I pray he inherits. This moment will inspire him and guide him for the rest of his life. Thank you for giving him that.”
Rumors that Adam was dating Holly first surfaced in late 2022, after he broke up with his ex Eirianedd.
Adam explained in his post about the split at the time that the best way to create a “happy” and “healthy” home environment for their son George was to end their romantic relationship.
He also apologized to Eiri and his son for “letting them down.”
Hours later, Eiri, 26, posted about their split on Instagram: ‘The last three years have been so, so, amazing. Our family has experienced so much laughter, love and joy.
“You guys have been such an important part of that. This next chapter in my life is definitely going to be a difficult one. I would appreciate it if people would refrain from commenting, speculating or posting.
‘I have shared so much of my life, but for now I choose privacy and I hope you all respect that.
“I appreciate you all so much and am so grateful for all the fun and opportunities you have given me. I am going to take a break from social media, so goodbye for now. Thank you so much for everything.”

Meanwhile, Holly was in the stands in Paris on Sunday to cheer on Adam.
An emotional Adam burst into tears during a TV interview before walking to the stands to hug his loved ones.
Adam assured his interviewer that he wasn’t crying because he didn’t win the gold medal, but because of the journey he had taken to get there.
Holly gave him a kiss before George joined them for a cuddle, then handed the little one to his father.
Adam shared silver with American world champion Nic Fink, after they both posted a time of 59.05 seconds. His Chinese rival Haiyang Qin finished in seventh place.
In an interview he told how difficult it had been for him to even go to Paris. Last year he temporarily stopped playing sports due to depression.
“It’s a long road back,” Adam said. “I’ve done everything I can. It doesn’t matter what the time says, or what the score is, because in my heart I’ve already won.
“I’m not crying because I came second. I’m crying because it cost me so much to get here. These are tears of joy because I did my best every day and I can’t be angry about that.
‘It’s just incredibly difficult. To win it once, and to win it again, and to try to win it again.
‘Everything I’ve done so far has happened for a reason and I’m so happy to be able to race against the best riders in the world and finish second.
‘I’m almost an old man here now. I can’t be this ruthless every day without a sacrifice of some kind.
“It comes in many ways, my timing, my energy, my relationships. It’s very hard to compete with the youngsters, but I’m so happy about it because in my heart I couldn’t have done more.”
This came after Holly shared a photo of her freshly manicured nails on Instagram, which featured Adam’s initials.
She also shared a photo of her ‘pool essentials’, namely a soft toy and a Spiderman figure, as she watched along with George.
Adam, who nearly quit the sport last year, had vowed to ‘give everything’ to win gold at his third Olympic Games.
But he was beaten by just two hundredths of a second by Nick Fink who came in at the same time.
His arch-rival Qin Haiyang from China finished seventh.
On Friday, Holly praised her boyfriend of one year, calling him a great dad and saying she was grateful to have been able to watch him compete in his games.
The swimmer has previously opened up about his battle with depression and alcoholism, but has been happier than ever since meeting Holly in 2023.

In the post shared on Instagram, Holly said: ‘It has been an absolute privilege to have watched you this past year. Your determination and dedication is second to none.
‘Hours of training, team meetings, gym, physio and yet you are the best father to George and the best partner to me. Being able to attend so many training sessions and organise team breakfasts has made me so grateful to be part of your world.
“I love you. Go out there and crush it. Enjoy it, you deserve everything and more.
