Adam Pally and other stars join the cast of Idris Elba, with Sonic The Hedgehog spin-off series Knuckles
The upcoming Sonic The Hedgehog spin-off Knuckles bolsters its primary cast.
Idris Elba, who was previously announced to direct the series, is now joined by Adam Pally Variety.
The 41-year-old actor had previously appeared as Wade Whipple in both live-action Sonic The Hedgehog films, while Elba made his debut playing the character of Knuckles in the second film.
The breakout star of The Righteous Gemstones, Edi Patterson, will also add a dose of her comedic talents, as will Ted Lasso actress Ellie Taylor.
The Knuckles series will reportedly take place between the events of the second film and the upcoming third entry in the series, which will hit theaters on December 20, 2024.

The series follows Knuckles as he agrees to train [Pally’s character] Wade as his protege and teach him the ways of the Echidna warrior,” the logline reads.
Scott Mescudi (better known as the rapper Kid Cudi) and Julian Barratt of The Mighty Boosh also join the cast.
Tika Sumpter, who plays Maddie in the Sonic movies, will guest star at some point in the series, as will Rory McCann, who saw his profile rise significantly when he played the Hound on Games Of Thrones.
More actors are expected to be announced in the future.
The series is reportedly already in production in London.
The Knuckles series will have some continuity with the feature film creative teams, as Jeff Fowler, who directed both films, will return to direct the pilot episode.
Plus, John Whittington, who co-wrote the second film in the series, is back to write the pilot. He will serve as the lead writer for the series in the future as well as executive producer.
Elba will also serve as an executive producer, as will Neal H. Moritz and Toby Ascher.

Jorma Taccone, of The Lonely Island fame, will be one of the other directors on the series, along with Ged Wright, Brandon Trost and Carol Banker.
Pally is best known for starring in the comedy series Happy Endings, which aired on ABC from 2011 to 2013.
The series gained a cult following after its cancellation.
After that, he was a series regular on The Mindy Project for two seasons, and he still has a stream of movie roles.
