Adam Driver confirms he and wife Joanne Tucker welcomed second child as he talks life with his baby daughter: ‘I’m more patient with her’

Adam Driver has confirmed he has an eight-month-old bundle of joy.

The actor, 40, shares a six-year-old son with wife Joanne Tucker, 41, and last week it was reported that the couple welcomed their second child, a daughter, earlier this year.

Now the actor confirmed the new addition during a performance on Live with Kelly and Markwhere he joked: 'I have an older son who's six and now she's eight months and you kind of forget how much babies suck quite a bit.'

While the Girls star may be a little sleep-deprived, he's learning to enjoy the current time with his daughter and be more “patient” with her than he was with his son.

When asked if he slept: 'Not much. But this time I remember to enjoy it more. This first time it happened too fast and I desperately wanted him to develop so he could communicate and tell me what was wrong. And now I'm more patient with her. I'm trying to enjoy it more.'

“She likes me better,” he said. “When I was with my son, he didn't want anything to do with me for the first three years.”

Last week, Page six reported that Driver announced that he and his wife had welcomed their second child during a rehearsal session for his Saturday Night Live hosting stint.

Driver, who plays Enzo Ferrari in the upcoming biopic Ferrari, made the revelation while discussing his opening monologue, the outlet reported.

The San Diego resident said, “Last year I asked for a baby girl, and I got it, which is exhausting — so this year I'm wishing for Ambien!”

The Marriage Story actor and his wife welcomed a son earlier in 2016.

Driver followed his previous pattern in confirming the news, as he previously did while hosting SNL January 2020.

Driver, who has played Kylo Ren in the Star Wars universe, said at the time: “I am a husband. And a father. It is in that order. I've been very clear about that with my son, he comes second in everything.'

Tucker sported what appeared to be a baby bump during a shopping trip in New York City in February.

Sources close to Driver and his wife report this Page six in November 2018, relatives of Driver and Tucker had spoken about the pregnancy on their Instagram accounts, which were set to private.

Tucker's sister posted images from a joint baby shower calling them “new moms” in a post that was accidentally made public, insiders told the outlet.

Driver and Tucker took their son on a trip to Italy in March 2021, the outlet reported.

Although Driver and Tucker have not spoken publicly about their children, Driver referenced in a February 2017 interview W magazine.

The actor said he once doubted he would “love anything more” than his dog, adding, “I might have a kid, and I would be like that, but the dog!”

Driver said he and Tucker had a new child during a rehearsal session ahead of his Saturday Night Live hosting stint, sources told Page Six.

The Marriage Story actor reportedly said during rehearsal, “Last year I asked for a baby girl, and I got it, which is exhausting — so this year I'm wishing for Ambien!”

Driver and Tucker initially crossed paths while studying at The Juilliard School and married in June 2013.

Tucker is also an actress, as she appears with her husband in the 2019 film The Report and in a 2016 episode of the HBO series Girls.

She has also appeared in films such as 2020's Give or Take, 2016's Zero Days and 2014's Listen Up Philip.
