Adam DeVine has revealed the moment he and his wife Chloe Bridges saw a man “shot” outside their $2.6 million Hollywood mansion.
Emil Lahaziel, 39, died just after 2 a.m. Wednesday morning in Hollywood Hills West after suffering multiple gunshot wounds, police said.
Despite the obvious discomfort of his co-host’s Blake Anderson, Anders Holm, and Kyle Newacheck, DeVine opened up about the moments leading up to Lahaziel’s murder as part of the “This Is Important” Live podcast.
“This is really scary what just happened. So across the street they were playing this like a crazy poker game, right?’ he said.

“People came rolling in like Lamborghinis and Bentleys and Rolls Royce’s and assholes and old boys, sure fucking prostitutes and playing cards.
‘And I see these fellows and it’s nice to sit and watch, [so] me and my wife, we’re sitting on our balcony, and this looks crazy.’
DeVine then pauses and tells the audience “this is where it gets sad.”
“Someone got killed in there,” he continues, before Anderson asks him to repeat what he said, but with the added effect of a sinister soundbyte.
“Someone got killed,” he repeats, with Newacheck replying “that’s a downer.”
‘Yeah dude, I called that s*** I called that s***. I was like ‘this is cowardly s*** going down here’ and sure enough someone is getting shot,” he continued.
“That’s sad,” Newacheck responds, when Holm quickly adds, “Yeah, a real person, not with us anymore.”

DeVine recounted the tragic events early Wednesday morning, when a 39-year-old man was shot dead just after 2 a.m. Wednesday morning in the driveway of his neighbor’s home.
“Yeah, but that happens, people die,” DeVine says in defense of his retelling of the deadly shooting.
This isn’t Hollywood, this is a story about my real life.
“I mean, it’s pretty Hollywood, you’re like, ‘I think I live in places where people get killed, pretty cool,'” Holm says before the group quickly changes the subject.

Lahaziel was later identified at DailyMail.com by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner.
Lahaziel was shot to death shortly after 2 a.m. Wednesday morning while standing in the driveway of a $1.8 million home in Hollywood Hills West.
Police immediately responded to the incident and saw a man lying in front of a residence with multiple gunshot wounds.
Investigators said Lahaziel was attending a party when the suspect arrived.
The pair began to argue in the street and the suspect shot the victim several times before fleeing the crime scene.
Police said the suspect may have gotten into another vehicle and there may be more than one suspect.
Officers performed CPR on Lahaziel, but he died at the scene.
DeVine was sitting with his wife, Chloe Bridges, when the incident happened.
The couple married in a romantic ceremony in Mexico in October 2021 and posted photos of the lavish seaside wedding on their socials.
Bridges and DeVine met in 2014 on a flight to Louisiana to film the movie The Final Girls.
During an appearance on The Tonight Show, DeVine said he didn’t realize Bridges was his co-star.
After spending time together on set, Devine and Bridges started dating in February 2015.
Devine and Bridges also starred side-by-side in Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates.
After years of dating, DeVine proposed to Bridges on a boat trip in Newport Beach, the pair shared the news on Instagram.
He wrote: ‘She said yes! Well, actually she said “ahh Adam” and then kissed me, but I’m pretty sure that means YES! I love Chloe more than anything and I’m so excited to spend the rest of my life with her amazing self.”
