Australian actress Ruby Rose receives death threats from Nicki Minaj’s fans after being dragged into the rapper’s beef with Megan Thee Stallion

Australian actress Ruby Rose has unwittingly been drawn into Nicki Minaj’s ongoing battle with fellow rapper Megan Thee Stallion.

Ruby, 37, has been targeted by Minaj’s fans, known as the ‘Barbz’, after they confused her with American rapper and OnlyFans sensation Rubi Rose.

Rubi, 26, found herself in hot water with the Barbz this week after she reportedly criticized Minaj on her private Instagram – before one of her friends leaked the screenshot online.

In the leaked post, Rubi called Minaj “evil as f**k,” accused her of using Ozempic to lose weight, said her body was “messed up” by surgery and made a series of other highly defamatory claims against the Starships— hitmaker.

While Rubi himself has yet to confirm the screenshot’s legitimacy, it hasn’t stopped the Barbz from trolling the star.

However, some Barbz have mistaken Rubi for John Wick 2 star Ruby, prompting the Australian actress to take to social media to defend herself.

In a post shared to Instagram on Monday, Ruby wrote: “I have a ‘Y’ in my name, not an ‘I.’ I never thought I’d see the day I’d be inundated with death threats for being involved in a rap beef.”

She continued, “I don’t post about rappers on my Close Friends story. I assure you that my Close Friends list will never be used for anything other than more dog photos. I don’t know much about the inner workings of the rap world, period.”

“You’ve got the wrong person,” she added. “I toured her entire Australian tour with Nicki and I’ve never met Megan, but she seems great too.”

Ruby then posted a screenshot of one of the nasty messages she received from Minaj’s bloodthirsty Barbz.

Nicki and Megan previously worked together on the hip-hop hit Hot Girl Summer in 2019, but the two have since split.

Tensions came to a head this weekend when Megan released a new diss record called Hiss, which took aim at several people in the music industry.

That song contains the lyrics “These hoes don’t be mad at Megan / these hoes mad at Megan’s Law,” referring to the American law that requires law enforcement officers to share information about registered sex offenders with the public.

The lyrics were seen by Nicki’s fans as a diss against her husband, Kenneth Petty, who is a registered sex offender and was convicted of attempted rape, serving four years in prison.

The text may also have been directed at Minaj’s brother, Jelani Maraj, who was convicted of predatory sexual assault in 2017 for the rape of his 11-year-old stepdaughter.

A judge sentenced Maraj to 25 years to life in January 2020 after an appeal failed in 2018.

Minaj has since fired back in an Instagram video in which she tells Megan to “call her mom and apologize,” while also bashing her for the Tory Lane shooting.

“You just had everyone thrown under the bus. You had DaBaby thrown under the bus, Tory, your best friend, your mother. You better call your mom and say… and apologize,” Minaj said during the IG live session.

Megan’s mother, Holly Thomas, died in March 2019 from a cancerous brain tumor, and she mentioned her death on the song Flip Flop from her 2022 album Traumazine.

Megan has not yet publicly responded to Nicki’s comments, although when asked about the beef on The Breakfast Club, she responded, “A hit dog will scream.”
