A South Florida-based actor faces extradition to Ireland over the rape of a 19-year-old au pair in an Airbnb in Dublin.
Kevin Yungman, 31, was taken into custody by U.S. Marshals on Monday after Irish authorities sought his arrest for the alleged 2018 rape. Local 10 reports.
Irish prosecutors allege he met a Brazilian au pair during a trip to Paris in April 2018. The two stayed in touch and eventually planned a trip to visit her in Ireland, where she was working.
Yungman allegedly raped the then 19-year-old girl twice on June 4, 2018, in an Airbnb in Dublin.
The victim reported the alleged rape to Irish authorities. According to Local 10, they showed authorities a WhatsApp message from Yungman stating that “something like this will never happen again.”

Two days later, Yungman was arrested by authorities as he attempted to board a plane.
He claimed in two separate police interviews that the sex was consensual, after which he was released.
But in February 2020, Ireland’s Director of Public Prosecutions ordered Yungman to be charged with rape.
It is unclear why the director came to this decision two years later.
If Yungman is now convicted of rape under Irish law, he could spend the rest of his life in prison, Local 10 reported.

According to Local 10, he is also a motivational speaker and runs a small YouTube channel where he has posted occasionally since 2010.
Yungman last posted in June 2023 with a song for Father’s Day. The caption noted that he offered both in-person and online vocal coaching.
The YouTube page also links to a LinkedIn profilewhich states that he has worked in the real estate sector, as a paramedic and as an investor.
It says he ‘strongly believes in “working smart” while maintaining the highest degree of honesty and integrity.’
As of Thursday evening, Yungman remained in custody in the Broward County Jail in Florida and had not yet been extradited.
