Aces star Kelsey Plum takes a jab at Tom Brady after Las Vegas’ new minority owner sat courtside for Game 1 of the WNBA finals: ‘It’s about f***ing time you showed up’
Las Vegas Aces guard Kelsey Plum didn’t hold back Tom Brady after their new minority owner went on a rampage in Game 1 of the WNBA Finals on Sunday.
“I looked at him and said, ‘It’s time for you to show up,’ Plum said in his postgame press conference after the Aces’ 99-82 win over the New York Liberty .
“But what I like about him is he said, ‘You already know that. “I’m just really excited about his investment in our franchise and understanding what that means for us, and not just us, but for the league.
“I’m kidding, but man, it’s been great having him and I know he cares.”
Brady and the Aces announced in March that he had purchased a minority stake in the club, but no specific information was provided before the stake was officially approved on Tuesday, October 3.

Brady attended his first game as a minority owner and sat next to majority owner Mark Davis.
Brady joked that “no one is safe” from Plum’s antics in an article on X later that day.
Alongside Brady, Los Angeles Lakers forward LeBron James was also on hand for Game 1 of the WNBA Finals on Sunday.
Plum finished the game with a playoff career-high 26 points and five rebounds in the nearly 20-point victory to start the series.
She wasn’t the only member of the Aces to have a great game as Jackie Young had five 3-pointers to also record 26 points.
Las Vegas point guard Chelsea Gray added 20 points and nine assists on her 31st birthday, A’ja Wilson had 19 points and eight rebounds. Young made 5 of 8 3-pointers.
Five New York players scored in double figures. This season’s league MVP, Breanna Stewart, led the Liberty with 21 points, Jonquel Jones had 16 points and 10 rebounds and Marine Johannes came off the bench to score 14. Sabrina Ionescu, who averaged 16.3 points in the playoffs, was held to seven points. .
The second game of the best-of-five series will take place Wednesday in Las Vegas.
LA Lakers forward LeBron James was also on hand for Game 1 of the WNBA Finals.
Jackie Young also stopped five shots from beyond the arc in the victory to score 26
In one of the most anticipated Finals in recent memory featuring three WNBA MVPs, this game played out more like regular season meetings between the teams in which the closest result was nine points.
The Aces made sure of that by turning into another one-sided game on an 11-2 run that turned a 67-63 advantage late in the third quarter into a 78-65 lead early in the fourth . Las Vegas led by as much as 94-72 with 3:32 left.
No playoff team has solved the Aces, who are 6-0. The Liberty proved it could beat Las Vegas in the regular season, but for a franchise still looking for its first title, New York will have to come back with a considerably different answer.
