Acacia Ridge, Brisbane: Teenager is charged over horrific stabbing near a school – as a 19-year-old fights for life in hospital

A teenager has been charged with attempted murder after allegedly stabbing a 19-year-old man in broad daylight following an altercation near a school in Brisbane’s south.
Police allege the 17-year-old boy became involved in a fight with the man outside a property in Acacia Ridge at around 2.30pm on Friday.
The teen then allegedly pulled out a knife and stabbed the man several times.
Emergency services took the 19-year-old to the Princess Alexandra Hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The 17-year-old boy from Acacia Ridge has since been charged with attempted murder, threatening violence and possessing a knife in public.
He has been taken into custody and will appear in court again in June.
The Acacia Ridge Criminal Investigation Branch is seeking the assistance of anyone who traveled along Gregory St. between 2pm and 2.30pm on Friday, May 17 to view their dashcam footage.
The alleged attack comes amid a renewed focus on knife crime in Queensland, with the state government promising to strengthen the Jack’s Law and other police powers.
