The French striker scored four goals at the World Cup in Qatar, making him the country’s all-time top scorer, surpassing Thierry Henry’s record, after scoring his 53rd goal.

The former Arsenal star joined Milan in July 2021 on a $1.2m deal from Chelsea, scoring 14 goals in 38 appearances in all competitions in his debut campaign, going nine of 19 for his club this season.

He became France’s all-time goalscorer with four goals at the World Cup last month.

The veteran striker has played for seven clubs in total with nine years in the Premier League, scoring 246 goals in 610 appearances.

Giroud returned to Milanello’s training camp on Friday after his World Cup break, while the rest of the squad traveled to the Netherlands to face PSV in their last friendly before Serie A returned.

Stefano Pioli’s team resume their league campaign on Wednesday with an away game against Salernitana. They are second in the table, eight points behind leaders Napoli.
