AC Milan wants to sign Newcastle striker Callum Wilson permanently this month.
Mail Sport understands that the Serie A club are interested in bringing the England star to Italy and would be open to talks if a bid were accepted.
Milan have seen a loan deal for Wilson from Atletico Madrid rejected by Newcastle, who insist he will not leave St. James’ Park in January.
However, if Milan were to present a permanent package, at the right price, there could still be movement.
Wilson, 31, has 18 months left to complete his contract and any big offer would leave Newcastle with a big decision to make. Eddie Howe is said to be determined to keep his number 9, which returns from a four-week calf layoff this month.

But after CEO Darren Eales admitted this month that ‘every player has a price’, Newcastle could be forced to look for a replacement if Wilson were to leave.
