- LISTEN NOW: It all starts! New formation, some new faces, but the optimism is gone at Old Trafford
AC Milan have become the latest club to consider a potential loan for Manchester United maverick Marcus Rashford.
The striker, who was out of favor under Ruben Amorim and missed the midweek defeat to Newcastle due to illness, is ready for a new challenge and is available this month.
United ideally want to sell for £40 million and that figure, plus his wages of more than £325,000 per week, are the biggest stumbling block.
United will consider loans with an obligation to buy and a number of clubs have shown interest.
Rashford has rejected approaches from Saudi Arabia and wants to stay in Europe to continue his career in England.
His preferred destination was Spain, but that option is unlikely to open until the summer and will depend on his performance in the second half of the season.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been tasked with solving Milan’s problems in attack and Rashford is one of the names that has been put forward.

Napoli have made early soundings, but the financial implications of that move are seen as too much by club insiders. Premier League clubs are also weighing offers, but they would be well below what United want.
United is desperate to offload players to make Amorim players better suited to its system. A striker and a left wing-back are considered priorities but are hampered by the PSR guidelines that have overspent under Erik ten Hag.
Milan have struggled for goals this season, with Rafael Leao and Christian Pulisic injured, and sit eighth in Serie A.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic, a former teammate of Rashford, has been tasked with finding solutions and the England international is one name that has been put forward.
Rashford missed training this week due to illness and seems unlikely to start for United under Amorim barring a substantial turnaround.
