AC Milan are ‘monitoring Man City star Kyle Walker’ after falling out of favour with Pep Guardiola
AC Milan are ‘interested in a move for Man City star Kyle Walker’ after falling out of favor with Pep Guardiola under his new system… with the England international’s contract with the Etihad expiring next summer
- Kyle Walker has another year on his contract with Man City and could leave
- AC Milan will try to tempt the England international to move to Italy
- Pep Guardiola admitted it could be difficult for Walker to start regularly from now on
AC Milan are reportedly eyeing Manchester City right-back Kyle Walker ahead of a potential England international move in the summer.
The 32-year-old still has one year left on his contract with the Etihad and there are no indications as of yet that he will extend his stay at the club.
Serie A giants Milan, who could play in the Champions League final against City in June, will try to tempt Walker to move to Italy, according to The sun.
Walker has appeared in 19 league games after being hampered by injuries and poor form this season, with manager Pep Guardiola claiming the England international cannot play the reverse role he demands.
Guardiola revealed earlier this month that Walker cannot follow the tactical instructions required to take on John Stones’ current role and has insisted that while City continue with this line-up, Walker’s only way in is as a center back .

“To play inside you have to make some moves, Kyle has other qualities,” said Guardiola. “He can’t do it with this form of three in the back and two in the middle. It’s a matter of skills. In that position he needs time and we don’t have time.’
When asked how the England international can push himself back into the starting eleven, Guardiola replied: “Be yourself, train well. He can play in the back three. The reason why is tactical. It’s not because we’ve lost faith in Kyle.”
Walker joined City in 2017 and has been instrumental in the club’s success ever since. He made 241 appearances and won multiple trophies, including four Premier League titles, four League Cup honours, and the FA Cup.
Guardiola’s side are chasing a historic treble this season after booking a place in the FA Cup final against rivals Manchester United with a comfortable victory over Walker’s former club Sheffield United.
