Abu Ousayd: Islamic cleric unleashes bizarre anti-Semitic rant at Bankstown’s Al Madina Dawah Centre saying Muslims shouldn’t celebrate NYE because it’s a ‘day of circumcision’

A controversial Muslim cleric launched a bizarre tirade against New Year's Eve celebrations, describing the festivities as a “celebration of the foreskin” and urging Muslims not to take part.

Abu Ousayd also said in a sermon at the Al Madina Dawah Center in Bankstown in Sydney's west on Friday that Israelis and Jews are the “descendants of pigs and monkeys”.

The tirade came just weeks after investigations into alleged hate speech by Muslim clerics – including Ousayd – against the Jewish population were dropped by state and federal investigators because they did not meet the threshold for incitement.

Ousayd, also known as Brother Ismali, stated that all Muslims who celebrate New Year's Eve are equal to the kafirs (disbelievers in Islam) due to the holiday's “pagan” roots in Chinese and Christian culture.

Abu Ousayd said in a sermon at the Al Madina Dawah Center in Bankstown in Sydney's west on Friday that Israelis and Jews are the “descendants of pigs and monkeys”.

“The Chinese are the first to come up with fireworks to scare away evil demons… another pagan origin,” he told the congregation.

'You as a Muslim have nothing to do with this day, stay away from it. Don't celebrate, don't congratulate the Kafir.'

Ousayd claimed that several Christian denominations celebrate January 1 as the day Jesus Christ was circumcised.

“Now we're celebrating a piece of meat being cut off and thrown away… I'm sorry to say this, but what you're celebrating is a piece of foreskin,” he said.

The sermon ended with the clergyman asking, “What is so joyful about this new year?” referring to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East between Israel and Hamas.

“How can you take your children, standing shoulder to shoulder with the Kafir, and watch the fireworks knowing that bombs and missiles are raining down on your brothers and sisters?” Ousayd said.

“Let us not forget what happened to our brothers and sisters in Palestine.

“The descendants of pigs and monkeys steal the organs of your brothers and sisters… But we want to watch fireworks.”

The sermon sparked outrage from Executive Council of Australian Jewry co-CEO Alex Ryvchin, who denounced the comments.

“He believes that Jews are pigs and monkeys, yet they have built a thriving pluralistic democracy that has gathered millions of refugees and formed one of the most advanced, powerful and innovative countries in the world, despite facing almost constant war.” and have few natural resources,” Mr Ryvchin said. told The Australian.

“His comments are obviously despicable and dangerous, but they also provide an examination of how anti-Semitism works and the stupidity that comes with it.”

Australian Federal Police referred one of Ousayd's sermons to the terror task force for review in early November, but investigators found he had committed no crimes.

During a lecture in November, Ousayd used traditional anti-Semitic stereotypes to label Jews as “a very mischievous people” who use their economic and media power to “oppress the weak” and start wars for their own gain.

Daily Mail Australia has contacted the Al Madina Dawah Center for comment.
