'We do so little about this that sometimes something stronger is needed to enforce peace. I am grateful for the guidance.'
Jane also thanked two strangers for their help after the accident, as well as hospital staff.
She explained: 'A lovely couple helped me when I fell. They got me a cup of tea and took me home.
'Thanks to them and the lovely Scottish nurse who put my arm in a plaster cast when all the other 'plasterers' had gone home.'
Her fans were quick to reply, sending her good wishes and a speedy recovery.

Jane will star alongside The Fast Show's John Thomson in Stuntman, directed by real-life stunt daredevil Damien Walters.
Last year, Jane accused television producers of 'supplying' the same actors for leading roles.
When asked how she felt about Olivia Colman, Keeley Hawes and Lily James getting all the coveted TV appearances at The Space event in Brighton, she replied: 'And Sarah Lancashire.'
She continued, “I think it's a little limiting for the audience to always see the same crowd coming.
'I just feel sorry for the audience because the commissioners and the producers are so short-sighted that they have to keep producing the same people.
“They do a great job and when they are offered the roles, of course you take them,” she said, before adding that she finds this “a bit boring.”
Elsewhere during the discussion, Jane, who also starred in the 90s musical film Little Voice, admitted she was always nervous with 'sexy' roles and described herself as 'not very good at those roles'.
