Promotion is underway for the upcoming new comedy film About My Father, which is co-written and stars Sebastian Maniscalco.
The story is loosely based on the comedian’s life and relationship with his father Salvatore Maniscalco, who is played by Robert de Niro.
Both were on Saturday for the premiere screening at 21 AMC River East in Chicago, along with actresses Leslie Bibb and Kim Cattrall.
Since the stand-up comedian grew up in the Chicago suburb of Arlington Heights, Illinois, it was only fitting that the premiere be held in the Windy City.
The other cast members on hand to appear on the red carpet and screening included Laura Terruso, Anders Holm, Brett Dier, David Rasche, and of course, Maniscalco’s father Salvatore Maniscalco.

Before the screening, Bibb, 48, strutted her stuff on the red carpet in a black spaghetti-strap dress that was the epitome of elegance.
The simple yet eye-catching number had a plunging neckline and fell to her ankles, helping to show off her classy black heels
To complete her overall look, the former star of The Big Easy styled her blonde locks into a bob-like cut, which came over her shoulders and was parted on the left side.
After striking a few poses on her own, Bibb got another round with Cattrall, who showed off her fabulous figure in a fitted teal dress she paired with a white blazer.
The 66-year-old Sex And The City alum carried a black handbag and wore her blonde locks a few inches past her shoulders with a partial center parting.
Maniscalco, 49, would also use the arrival of spring as inspiration for his evening fashion choices decked out in white.
The ensemble consisted of dress pants, top and light jacket, along with a pair of matching sneakers.

Salvatore Maniscalco and his family emigrated from Cefalù, Sicily to Illinois when he was only 15 years old, bringing with him many of his Italian customs and traditions
It is those traditions and way of life that his son applies to perfection in his comedy, which undoubtedly plays a major role in the new film.
Directed by Laura Terruso from a screenplay by Sebastian Maniscalco and Austen Earl, the story follows Sebastian as he informs his father of his plan to propose to his American girlfriend during a weekend getaway, which Salvo insists he must attend.

The film’s other stars would also do the rounds for the photographers gathered for the event.
De Niro, 79, came dressed to impress in a black suit, while Anders Holm, 41, wore a brown blazer with black trousers and a white shirt.
David Rasche zlso went for black, Brett Diar opted for jeans with a multicolored shirt and Laura Terruso wore black dress pants with a matching blouse.
About My Father will premiere in theaters across the US on May 29.
