“Let’s take a picture… just for those lovely people on social media,” Speers, 48, was heard to say.
His colleagues laughed in response, and Speers said, “It’s a terrible, terrible place, and after years of coping, you just have to tell yourself there are hundreds of thousands watching and a few hundred tweeting.”
Speers said at the time that Insiders has about 15 regular trolls on Twitter, but “there are a lot more who just love our job.”

Another said, “Damn it, I never realized I was talking to three other versions of myself here.”

Someone else disagreed with Speers that Insiders has “hundreds of thousands” of viewers.
“Think he has megalomania about those figures,” they said. “He pretty much dropped Insiders in the toilet and flushed it.”
Neither Speers nor the ABC has publicly commented on the leak.
