Abbie Chatfield’s replacement is announced after the star sensationally quit her Hit Network radio show

Abbie Chatfield announced earlier this week that she was quitting radio to focus on her TV career, podcast and personal life.

And now the new presenters have been revealed to take over her national Nights service on the Hit Network.

Jimmy Smith and Nath Roye will take on the roles on The Jimmy & Nath Show, which airs weekdays from 7-10 p.m. starting today.

“I can only imagine that’s how Lizzie McGuire felt when she stepped onto that stage in Rome,” the radio stars said in a statement.

‘Nights of Australia, we’re here for you, we may not be ‘Hot’, but we can ensure that ‘mildly cute and quite funny Nights with Jimmy & Nath’ will be worth a listen! This is what dreams are made of…”

Despite the success of her Hit Network show Hot Nights with Abbie Chatfield, the 28-year-old told her fans via a 3-minute Instagram video that she was “happy” with her decision to call it quits.

“I just need to put my energy into projects that bring me joy and energize me, rather than drain me,” she explained.

But Abbie may be dropping the radio for a more practical reason: her podcast ratings.

The Bachelor alum’s podcast, It’s A Lot, has been consistently losing listeners and downloads since its launch in January 2022.

Shortly after its launch, it was the 8th largest podcast in the Australian charts, with 287,000 listeners and 731,000 downloads.

But just over a year later, It’s A Lot had dropped to 21st in Australia by April with 206,000 listeners and 490,000 downloads.

There was only some improvement last month when Abbie was off the radio for weeks and produced eight new episodes of It’s A Lot, propelling the podcast back up to a No. 18 spot.

Yahoo lifestyle reports that Abbie didn’t take her podcast’s ratings lightly and was particularly concerned about the gap between her show and rival podcast Life Uncut, one of Australia’s most popular.

Abbie’s practical decision to prioritize her podcast came after she recently revealed that her mental health had plummeted due to increasing workload.

In May, the host of FBoy Island shared several photos on Instagram from a photoshoot for Stellar magazine, which revealed that she had been crying on set in between takes.

She said at the time that her increasing workload was getting to her, but her hectic schedule didn’t allow time to take time off to recover.

In December, Abbie was also forced into bed rest after canceling her live podcast appearance on Beyond The Valley due to mental and physical exhaustion.

Abbie has had a lot on her plate over the past 12 months as her career goes from strength to strength.

In addition to her radio career and popular podcast, the former reality star has also served as a judge on The Masked Singer Australia and hosted Binge’s dating series FBoy Island.

She also launched her own brand of canned beer last year, called Spill, along with a clothing line called Verbose.

However, her clothing label was plagued with problems, with many fans complaining online that they had not received their orders.

As a result, Chatfield announced in May that it had temporarily closed the line.

“I’m having a big break because I’m so busy. Expenses are falling. The drop has been bought. There’s nothing dramatic, it’s just that I haven’t even had time to call my mom let alone run a label,” she told Rolling Stone.
