Abbie Chatfield speaks out on claims celebrities ‘tip off’ paparazzi – as industry veteran reveals what REALLY happens

Abbie Chatfield has dismissed the suggestions, saying she regularly ‘tips’ the paparazzi off about her whereabouts to ensure she gets good photos.

The 29-year-old reality star shared a damning video on TikTok in which she admitted that she had previously alerted paparazzi to her whereabouts, but she maintained that it had only happened once.

“I did that once, I think it’s funny that people get so mad at people who call the Pope about themselves,” Abbie began.

‘It’s f**king weird to do it when you’re walking, who gives a f**k? I would never call daddy for pictures of me walking the dog!’

However, The Masked Singer star added that she is fine with celebrities letting press photographers know where they are, as long as the money from the snaps is split between them.

“I don’t think it’s a bad thing to do because people can have autonomy over the photos that are taken of them. The reason paps are scary is because it’s not consensual.

The brunette beauty said she had made a deal with an agency to get $1,500 if she tipped them off about which beach she and her then-boyfriend would visit.

“If you can get paid for it, why not? The reason I did it with my boyfriend back then was for the money. I wouldn’t do it again unless it was for a lot of money.”

Ben McDonald, CEO of Matrix Media Group, told Ny Breaking Australia that many celebrities had a working relationship with the paparazzi to control their image.

He said he had worked with all kinds of celebrities throughout his career, including Hollywood stars and reality stars.

“People in the public eye want to control their image. Authentic pap photos take away that ability, so there’s a desire to build a working relationship so they can control their image,” he began.

‘A-listers could use it for that reason. We found out where Orlando Bloom stayed when he was in Australia.

“He comes out of the house, sees us quickly and he has agreed that he will walk down the street hand in hand with his ex-wife Miranda Kerr. We get a really nice picture and then we leave him alone.”

McDonald added that American socialite Kim Kardashian was one of the first celebrities to develop an open working relationship with paparazzi – and that others quickly followed in her footsteps.

“Kim has made the most of this! There is an advantage to having a working relationship with Dad.”
