Abbie Chatfield has criticized Gold Coast man Ian Grace for his “misogynistic” call for a ban on G-string bikinis on the beach.
The 28-year-old media personality, who is known for regularly donning her own racy swimsuits, called the local businessman “a bit of a perverted freak” after claiming on The Project on Monday night that he felt “uncomfortable” being a scantily clad woman .
Abbie blew up the segment in a video she posted to Instagram on Tuesday, saying Ian pushed the narrative that women are “responsible” for men’s “emotions” and that they should be “ashamed of their bodies.”
“This absolute loser, who clearly has some kind of power complex, has decided to appear on national television and expose himself as a misogynist,” she said, sharing screenshots of Ian’s quotes.
“It’s kind of weird how often he says he’s ‘forced’ to look at women’s a**es and bosoms,” she added, labeling him a “pervert” before the confession.

The FBoy Island host went on to say that Ian’s outdated beliefs teach teenagers to view women’s bodies as “innately sexual” objects that are “outside their field of vision.”
‘It also means that they are not responsible for their own emotions, it is that the women you look at are their responsibility. So all we’re doing is teaching kids about victim blaming,” The Masked Singer star added.
“He teaches young women that men control their bodies, that their bodies are naturally sexual and that their bodies are seductive to men.”

Abbie continued, “It also teaches women that they should be ashamed of their bodies, and just remind them of their place in society.”
The radio host concluded her lengthy video by saying Ian’s views are “scary” and “feel very dystopian,” comparing them to flashback scenes in The Handmaid’s Tale “where things started to get weird” before women were subjected to slavery.
It seems Abbie isn’t the only one shocked by Ian’s call for a ban, as a retaliation demonstration is planned along the Gold Coast urging attendees to ‘free the peach’.

Both men and women gathered at Kurrawa Beach at 6am on Friday to support ‘freedom of choice’ in beachwear.
Barr Body and Swim founder Rebecca Pask organized the demonstration and branded the proposed ban on bikinis as ‘unwarranted’ and ‘unwelcome’.
Rebecca told Ny Breaking Australia on Tuesday that the gathering is intended to “celebrate the inclusivity, diversity and color of the Gold Coast beach culture that is anchored in our freedom. We are a ‘suns out buns out’ culture.”

Ian initially made the controversial call in a letter to Gold Coast Mayor Tom Tate, doubling down on his comments after they sparked a backlash across the country.
The older man also objected to wearing tight sportswear in public, claiming in The Project that he didn’t take women seriously when they wore low-cut blouses in an office environment.
The Gold Coast mayor said he would not consider the ban.
“Ian is a brave man who is messing with women’s fashion,” Tate told the newspaper Courier mail.
“One thing I’ve learned about fashion over the years is that if you try to ban or restrict something, that’s a surefire recipe for doubling its popularity.”
