Abbie Chatfield shares ‘heartbreak’ over ‘cheating’ video of her boyfriend Adam Hyde on tour… but all is not as it seems

Abbie Chatfield shared a video in which she opens up about her ‘heartbreak’ over an Adam Hyde ‘cheating’ video, but all was not as it initially seemed.

The 29-year-old Bachelor star shared a video of her boyfriend Adam on Instagram on Saturday, asking her fans in the caption, “Is this cheating?”

The video first showed Adam being fed a whole egg by a mysterious person sitting across from him, before Abbie revealed her reaction to the ‘cheating’ incident.

She burst into tears as she spoke of how ‘devastated’ she was when she saw the footage, with many of her fans not even realising she was joking.

Abbie had to admit that she was only faking tears and that she doesn’t really think the fact that he gets an egg from his Peking Duk bandmate Reuben Styles is cheating.

“I’m so shocked to have to say this, but this is a joke,” after many fans took her accusations of “cheating” seriously when they saw the video.

In the video, Abbie feigned tears and pretended to be “heartbroken” watching the video, telling her fans that dating a touring musician isn’t as great as it seems.

“Adam and I have an agreement that when he’s on tour – dating is obviously very stressful because when they’re on tour you’re thinking, what’s the worst they can do, what are they going to do,” she said.

The 29-year-old Bachelor star shared a video on Instagram on Saturday of her boyfriend Adam being fed a whole egg and asked her fans “is this cheating?” before later explaining that she was joking.

“It really saddens me to see this because when we first started dating, we had a deal with him, and I said that when they’re on tour, I really don’t want him to eat whole eggs from Reuben anymore!”

‘I just don’t get why he would do that! And then to post it on social media, I don’t get why he would feed Reuben a whole egg to swallow whole, like that’s our thing.

“I don’t get it. Guys, dating a musician is stressful. It’s not what you think.”

In a caption she added: ‘I can’t believe he did this. Is this cheating?’

Abbie went on to say that her fans accused her of being “insecure” and “controlling,” but they didn’t realize she wasn’t serious.

Abbie later posted a joke on Instagram Stories reassuring her 479,000 followers that she and Adam had made up after the feud between their alleged lovers.

She shared a screenshot of her last text message to him, which read: “I love you so much, darling, and I forgive you for the egg.”

Adam is currently on tour with his electronic music buddy Reuben, and the two are scheduled to hit Fortitude Valley on August 9th.

The duo Peking Duk will also perform in Sydney on August 10, after which they will fly to Airlie Beach and Douglas later that month.

Abbie confirmed her romance with singer Adam earlier this year after weeks of speculation, and they’ve been going strong ever since

After weeks of speculation, Abbie confirmed her romance with singer Adam earlier this year. The two partners have been very close ever since.

She regularly shares love photos and tributes to him on social media, and he is also a guest on her podcast It’s A Lot, where she talks about their romance.

Earlier this month, Abbie sweetly shared Stellar Magazine that her relationship with Adam is the best she’s ever had.

“It’s not like other people I’ve had affairs with. And this might sound a little weird, but he’s had a bigger career than I have,” she said amid concerns from fans that Adam was “using” her for fame.

“I don’t think he’s using me for anything. He’s successful in his own way. I think it’s cool that I’m with him, not the other way around.”

Abbie was friends with Adam for two years before they started dating, which she says helped build trust between them.

“I think it’s different with Adam because I trust the strength of our relationship. But also, us hanging out together is not a big, new thing. We’ve been hanging out in public for years,” she said.
