Abbie Chatfield set to lose TV hosting gig as claims emerge FBoy Island is facing the axe
FBoy Island star Abbie Chatfield could be on the hunt for a new job as claims emerge that the reality show is in jeopardy.
The series, which airs on BINGE, is hosted by the former Bachelor star and follows three women as they date 24 men who are either players or looking for love.
FBoys are only on the show to play the game and win a $50,000 cash prize if they fool the women into thinking they are a “nice guy.”
However, after two seasons, it seems the reality show is on shaky ground after it was mysteriously absent from the Foxtel and BINGE Upfronts event last month.
“At last month’s Foxtel and BBINGE Upfronts, there were a few big shows left off after the 2025 announcement and FBoy Island was one of the ‘noisier reality shows’ that viewers had expected to return,” a source told Ny Breaking Australia.
Despite its strong launch, FBoy Island has struggled to compete with Channel Nine’s dating reality show Love Island Australia, which offers a similar format.

The source claimed that a possible reason for the axing was that FBoy Island had so far failed to give contestants sustainable careers after their series ended, unlike its Channel Nine counterpart.
‘In its sixth series, Love Island Australia has continued to prove it has a place within its target audience and launched the careers of the likes of Callum Hole.’ said the source.
‘However, in two seasons of FBoy Island, the format has not produced a household name like Callum. That’s honestly not the main reason why networks make these shows.”
Since his role in the 2022 series Love Island Australia, Callum has built quite the reality TV career.
The Welsh-Aussie has since starred in the Geordie Shore-inspired spin-off Aussie Shore, and I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!
Ny Breaking Australia also exclusively announced last month that the 26-year-old will take part in Love Island All Stars: Season 2, which airs in the UK in January 2025.
There’s no denying that, aside from her FBoy Island hosting gig, Abbie Chatfield is also known for her quite vocal social media presence.
She often shares opinions on topics of the day, such as the recent US elections and climate change, and vaping.

However, the source said that any decision to ax FBoy Island would not be due to the host’s often controversial opinions.
“It had more to do with economics and nothing to do with Abbie’s recent social media posts,” the source said.
The source said Warner Bros Production Australia, which distributes FBoy Island, will focus on Channel Nine’s new reality series The Golden Bachelor, hosted by Samantha Armytage, when FBoy Island goes into production.
It was also claimed that while Foxtel has not confirmed the show’s cancellation, the location in the NSW coastal town of Casuarina has not been booked within the normal production timeline of February to March.
Ny Breaking Australia has contacted BINGE, Foxtel and Warner Bros for comment.
The claims come after Foxtel recently threw the ax into the popular series Gogglebox Australia.
In August, following the premiere of season two on FBoy Island, Abbie hit back at critics of the show who felt it portrayed men in a bad light.
‘We joke about patriarchy and men, but we don’t want to take it too seriously. That scares everyone. It’s a very complex tone to strike,” Abbie told news.com.au.

“If you’re a hardcore feminist, you won’t learn anything from this show. You can enjoy it, you can have fun with it, you can digest it. But you won’t say, ‘Wow, stunning,'” she added.
“But I think it’s a really good thing for a standard reality TV audience, who may even be a little conservative or oblivious, to watch this show and sprinkle easily digestible little chunks of feminism onto a dramatic reality show.”
Abbie went on to say that the show allows her to “call out sexism in the moment” and added: “I don’t think any other show has a host who gets to do that.”
In the 2024 season finale, leading ladies Krystal Thomas, Nicole Mitrov and Ally Woodfall made their final decision on the FBoys and Nice Guys dating pool.
But before each of the women’s top two men could face the final decision, contestant Chad Homan made the shocking decision to leave the show.
The strike came after all eliminated contestants were asked to return to the villa before the final elimination.
Chad was then alerted that Ally kissed contestant Joe Blanch behind the villa when they thought no one was looking.
After seeing the offensive kiss firsthand, an emotional Chad made the decision to remove himself from the battle with Ally, leaving her with Andrew Tate lover Joe as her only option.
