Abbie Chatfield reveals why she will no longer discuss her dating life publicly – as the podcaster lifts the lid on her ‘exhausting’ battle with work addiction

She’s the media personality who built a brand by sharing deeply personal – and often shocking – details about her life.

But The Bachelor’s Abbie Chatfield has announced that she won’t be sharing details about her own romantic conquests in the future.

“I’m trying to stop saying who I’m dating because the last time I told everyone it ended a bit tragically,” the 28-year-old said during an appearance on The Sunday Project this weekend.

Abbie, who split from Bachelorette star Konrad Bien-Stephen last August after about a year of non-exclusive dating, explained that whoever she dates always worries that they will end up as “content” on her podcast.

The Masked Singer judge admitted that she has a habit of telling her dates that they won’t be discussed on her show before breaking her promise once they break up.

Elsewhere this weekend, Abbie spoke to Stellar magazine about her mental health struggles, after previously admitting she suffers from workaholism.

“(My mental health is) the worst it has been in years. The first quarter (of this year) brought a level of work stress that I had never experienced before,” she said.

Abbie admitted that she feels so “exhausted” that she’s “ready to throw her phone in the ocean.”

‘I’ve done so much. I hope I can maintain a lower level of work. “I’m going to think about how I spend my time and how I can be most efficient,” she said.

‘This year has taught me not to say yes to everything. It will burn you out.”

Abbie has ditched several work commitments over the past year, but it wasn’t until September that she sought help at a luxury retreat in Thailand.

The first signs of Chatfield’s troubles started in December, when she pulled out of a live podcast recording at the Beyond the Valley music festival in Victoria – just hours before she was due to appear on stage.

She posted a statement on Instagram the morning of the event, saying she was feeling completely “exhausted” after a challenging year and needed some time alone to refresh.

Abbie continued to scale back her schedule by putting her fledgling clothing line Verbose on hiatus earlier this year.

This came after a wave of complaints from customers claiming they had not received their orders and had been ignored when requesting refunds.

Just a few months later, Chatfield kissed her lucrative radio career goodbye, a move that shocked the industry.

Her departure came amid reports of unrest behind the scenes of the Hit Network show after her co-host Rohan Edwards and her executive producer Max Corstorphan both abruptly quit under mysterious circumstances.

Meanwhile, Abbie also quit a lucrative book deal she signed with Affirm Press in 2020 to write a feminist manifesto.

“I tried to write, I couldn’t write anything,” she admitted in March.

The reality star said she even attended a writers’ retreat to help out, but got bored and left two days early before completely finalizing the deal.

In addition to multiple job cuts, Chatfield is also unlikely to return for a second season of Binge’s dating show FBoy Island after Binge owner Foxtel noticeably failed to include the show at the 2024 Upfronts last month.
