Abbie Chatfield has hit back at fans for calling out her new boyfriend Adam Hyde for sporting a bright red sunburn before undergoing cancer treatment.
The former Bachelor star, 28, shared a series of photos to Instagram on Monday from her recent holiday in the US and Mexico with the Beijing Duk frontman, where he received a call from his doctor in Australia confirming he had skin cancer.
However, fans were quick to comment on the post and condemned Adam for suffering a bright red sunburn during the trip.
‘Did he just have a skin cancer cut out and was he burned red afterwards? Oooffffff,” someone commented.
“OMFG I feel so sore looking at that first photo,” said another, while a third wrote: “Please put some sunscreen on that man.”

Abbie promptly hit back, claiming her boyfriend had been wearing sunscreen and a shirt all day, while also spending most of his time in the shade.
‘If everyone could refrain from comments about sunscreen I would appreciate it!! “I’m obviously concerned about the fact that Adam had his skin cancer removed and he didn’t try to burn himself,” she wrote.
“He wore sunscreen and a shirt most of the day and we sat in the shade most of the time. I appreciate for a lot of you it’s fun and silly or trying to raise awareness to wear sunscreen, but I think it’s enough responses now to raise awareness.”
‘It’s not lighthearted for me unfortunately because I obviously love this man and we were obviously extremely concerned about the cancer (which is now gone). It just makes me excited, instead of enjoying the photos of our trip.”

Adam revealed earlier this month that he had been diagnosed with skin cancer when he confirmed his new romance with Abbie on her It’s a lot of podcast.
‘I get a call from the Australian Skin Cancer Clinic [while I was in LA] and the receptionist said that because of the results I have booked a procedure for tomorrow,” he explained.
‘I hadn’t gotten the results yet, so I was confused. And I thought it was serious and that it was melanoma.”

Adam said he spoke to the doctor, who told him he had “double cancer in his neck.”
“I’m going to have the full surgical treatment done and apparently it’s not melanoma,” he added.
Adam then urged listeners to get their skin checked regularly.
‘I have moles all over my body. “I spent too much time in the sun growing up, so it’s important to get your skin checked,” he said.
