Abbie Chatfield defends boyfriend Adam Hyde against claims he’s benefitting from her fame: ‘I don’t think he’s using me’

Abbie Chatfield has stood up for her new man, despite fans’ concerns that he is ‘using’ her for fame.

The former Bachelor star and her boyfriend, Peking Duk musician Adam Hyde, have formed a close friendship since their announcement earlier this year.

The 28-year-old tells in this week’s issue Stellar Magazine that she’s in the best relationship she’s ever had, and that she’s not afraid of being used.

“It’s not like other people I’ve had affairs with. And this might sound a little weird, but he’s had a bigger career than I have,” she tells this week’s issue of Stellar Magazine.

“I don’t think he’s using me for anything. He’s successful in his own way. I think it’s cool that I’m with him, not the other way around.”

Abbie added that she has known Adam for two years and they were friends before they started dating, which has increased the trust between them.

“I think it’s different with Adam because I trust the strength of our relationship. But also, us hanging out together is not a big, new thing. We’ve been hanging out in public for years,” she said.

“Someone said, ‘You seem manic. This feels like too much, too fast.’ And I made a video where I said, ‘Well, I’ve known him for two years. We’ve been dating for six months and we’re getting closer. We were friends for two years before that, so I don’t know how you know it’s too soon,'” she said.

Abbie previously defended Adam after fans raised concerns he was ‘love bombing’ her for publicity.

This week, she responded to a TikTok follower who wrote, “He love bombs you. Watch out,” after Abbie admitted that Adam paid for her IUD to be inserted.

Love bombing is when a loved one showers you with romantic gestures, artfully painting a picture of the beautiful future they want to share with you, often when you have only known them for a few weeks or even a few days.

They make you feel like all your romantic dreams have come true, when the devastating truth is that you are being blown away by an arch manipulator.

Abbie insisted this didn’t happen to her, saying in her response video: ‘I’ve known him for two years. I’ve seen him on and off for those two years.

‘I stayed friends for those two years and we’ve been back together for about six months now. We’ve been officially dating for three months now.

“I know this man, and him paying for an IUD is not love bombing. He is a considerate man who knows his role in contraception and is considerate of me.”

Abbie also responded to a comment that read: ‘PR move of the century. This man knows what he’s doing.’

She immediately replied, “I listened to his music when I was 20 lmao.”

This came after Abbie admitted this week that she ‘cried’ over her new man.

“I don’t think he’s using me for anything. He’s successful in his own way. I’m cool with him, not the other way around,” she said.

The podcaster admitted that his love for her has moved her to tears and she encouraged other women not to settle for anything less than a committed partner.

“I cry when I look at the movie photos while Adam is performing so consider my love letter to Adam a sign to dump that loser who makes you feel unloveable or can’t commit to you,” she wrote in her caption.

“Or they don’t really care about knowing you or won’t be romantic or won’t communicate or make you feel like you’re too much or won’t take on their share of the mental burden or just won’t make you laugh so hard you can’t make a sound! Dump them!” she raged.

The caption included loved-up photos of the couple, whose romance has only grown stronger since they went public in June.

Abbie has already openly said that she wants to have children with her boyfriend Adam.

She revealed on her Podcast It’s a lotShe recently had an IUD inserted and Adam considered a vasectomy, as the couple don’t want to start a family yet but are open to it in the future.

It comes after Abbie this week admitted she has been left ‘crying’ over her new man. ‘I cry looking at these film photos… please accept my love letter to Adam as a sign to dump that loser who makes you feel like you are unloveable,’ she wrote.

“So I got an IUD because I don’t want to get pregnant. I’m afraid that if I get pregnant, I’ll keep the IUD and it will change our lives forever,” Abbie said.

She went on to say that she and Adam, the frontman of Australian band Peking Duk, are both financially ready for a child.

Abbie continued, “If I get pregnant, we both have money, we’re both old enough, we both own property. We both think, ‘Fine.'”

“That wouldn’t be a reason, and we’re both very much in love. Plus, he’s so emotionally mature and grown up that he would be a good father.”

She admitted that she had never thought about having a child until she met Adam.

“With Adam, I would want to have his kids, I would want to have his kids, like I cry all the time about wanting his kids. And we both have amazing moms who would love for us to have grandkids too,” she said.
