Abbie Chatfield broke down in tears on Wednesday during an emotional Instagram video discussing her dating struggles while suffering from ADHD.
The Bachelor star, 28, who was admitted to a health retreat last year due to “burnout,” shared the lengthy video shortly after going public with Peking Duk frontman Adam Hyde on her It’s A Lot podcast.
She started the video by thanking her fans for their support following her major relationship reveal, adding, “You know how hard I’ve been lately, especially this past year.”
“Like all of 2023 and also in general, with men and dating and just in life,” she said.
Abbie went on to explain that it is harder for her to be in a relationship than other women because of her ADHD and battle with “trauma.”

‘I never thought someone would love me so much because of my ADHD or other traumas I have. Like CPTSD [Complex Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder] and all these things,” she said in tears.
“Many of the things you don’t even know have happened. “A lot of bad things happened, especially last year,” she added.
The Masked Singer judge said she’s been cheated on “a million times,” but that didn’t even scratch the surface of what she’s been through.
“Someone cheating on me doesn’t even scratch the surface of what I’ve experienced in my life and in relationships,” she said.

She explained that her new romance with Adam has broken the mold.
She said she previously had a habit of hiding her personality from her partners — a behavior she called “masking” — but she doesn’t have to do this with her newest partner.
“I always thought I would somehow settle for my relationships, and last night at dinner I realized I would never wear a mask around Adam,” she enthused.
Abbie concluded by sharing an encouraging message to fellow fans with ADHD who are also struggling to find love.
‘There’s someone out there [for you]And if it’s not, then you’re okay and you’re better off alone,” she said.
‘I know it’s weird to hear… but I wish when I was single I would just let myself be a jellyfish in the ocean and ride the wave rather than worry about it would make.’
The reality star urged her fans not to settle for an average man like a businessman named Tom, who works at PricewaterhouseCoopers.
‘When you see yourself in me, I know that you are truly unique and I know that you probably don’t feel like you are normal… I know that you are very special, so It takes someone very special and it takes you.”
Abbie’s newfound happiness comes after a difficult few years.
In December 2022, Abbie sparked concerns after pulling out of a live podcast recording at Victoria’s Beyond the Valley music festival – just hours before she was due to appear on stage.
