He described problems like hair loss, skin problems, and uncontrollable hormones.

Abbey began: ‘You know I had so many problems during the pregnancy. I was literally sick for nine months.

‘My hair was falling out like ridiculous. I had acne, remember that rash I had all over my body, literally like a can of beans.

Peter added: “It takes its toll, doesn’t it? It’s like a natural thing, so you’re like, oh, every woman should do it, it’s hard.”

Abbey agreed: “It’s very difficult and you know when you can’t control your hormones, which Pete thought I made up by the way.”

Peter chimed in: “Yeah, but you can’t control your hormones and then there’s whatever you were.”

Abbey insisted: ‘You can’t control it!’

Peter quipped: ‘Come on, like seriously. You know when she had the baby, every one of them. I mean it was hard for both of us.

‘And then when the baby was born, it felt like the Green Mile. You know where she exhales and all the evil disappears, it was literally like that, I swear!

Hard: Peter added, “It takes its toll, doesn’t it? It’s like a natural thing, so you’re like, oh, every woman should do it, it’s hard.”

“It’s like the baby comes out and out of her vagina, like all this bad energy just walks out of the room and then she’s just Ab again and I’m like God I love you.”

Abbey’s candor comes when the star admitted she’s a “weird in the sheets” when it comes to her love life with husband Peter.

Taking a trip down memory lane, the couple recounted on their show how they met at a birthday party in Liverpool under a restaurant where Abbey worked as a waitress.

Peter said: ‘Ab came towards me. she was crazy. I couldn’t pull a hamstring in London. I went to Liverpool and then you came here and I was like, ‘Wow, this place is amazing.

Abbey replied: ‘You marked that day. That was your first goal.

Peter continued: ‘I was struggling. Then bang: I scored two and my hat-trick was Ab on the night.

You came, and this sounds corny, but I’ve never seen a more beautiful girl in my life. I always remember your eyes. Your mom has them too. They are incredible.

Regardless, it was a good night for Peter as he was celebrating the two goals against Wigan at Anfield after 18 goalless games.

The connection was instant for the couple, with Abbey insisting that she knew he was the one on that first date.

She said: ‘I knew from the day I met you that we were going to be together forever. That sounds cheesy, but I knew that and I was like, ‘I don’t want to rush this.

In love: The couple tied the knot in 2009 and recently renewed their wedding vows in a ‘beautiful’ ceremony on a Maldivian beach during Christmas

The former British Next Top Model star arrived at the rendezvous with just £7 in her bag and admitted she had never bought anyone a drink before.

She said: ‘Pete had the first drink, then I thought I’d have the next one. He had never bought a drink in my life. I didn’t even know how much it was.

Pete wanted Guinness. So I went to the bar and bought Guinness and a glass of tap water because I was afraid it would cost me more than £7.

Despite not having the best of starts, the couple is still going strong 17 years later, and seem more in love than ever after renewing their relationship in the Maldives over Christmas.
