A one-day-old baby boy was miraculously found alive in a basket outside a Texas church after being abandoned in temperatures reaching into the triple digits.
Surveillance footage shows a man and woman carrying a basket into the parking lot of Grissom Road Church around 1 a.m. on July 17, the San Antonio Police Department said, according to a Crime Stoppers report on Wednesday.

Around 8:50 pm, almost twenty hours later, a cyclist saw a ‘suspicious basket on the ground’.

The police said the temperature that day was 110 degrees, Yahoo News reported.
Ximena V. Alvarez, a Public Relations Manager with the San Antonio Police Department, issued a statement Friday to DailyMail.com.
She said, “The baby was not in distress and still had the umbilical cord attached.”
The spokesperson also says that a “note has been found left by the unknown suspect.”
It is unclear whether the child’s parents dropped off the baby.
While Alvarez was unable to provide further details, she said Texas Child Protective Services had been notified and the investigation remains active.
Texas Governor Gregg Abbot signed SB 780 in June regarding the state’s “Baby Moses” law, according to a press release.
This legislation provides accessibility for families in crisis by allowing the use of ‘baby boxes’ to deliver a newborn to an emergency responder.
The inclusion of the devices as an option to give up a child will take effect on September 1.
