Aaron Taylor-Johnson teases grisly footage from Sony’s first R-RATED Marvel film Kraven the Hunter

Aaron Taylor-Johnson shared a special video message introducing the first gruesome, blood-splattered footage from his upcoming movie Kraven The Hunter to excited attendees at CinemaCon in Las Vegas on Monday.

The 32-year-old Englishman – who previously played superheroes Pietro Maximoff and Kick-A** – confirmed: ‘Will it be rated-R? F*** yeah, it’s rated R.’

It’s the first time Sony Pictures has limited a Marvel feature to just fans over the age of 18 and, as contestant Rob Keyes tweetedis it because the titular character of Aaron bit a poacher’s flesh and spat it out in the sneak peek.

Marvel previously released the R-rated Logan and Deadpool movies, but Sony always rated their previous Marvel movies (Tom Holland-led Spidey movies, Venom, and Morbius) as PG-13.

Taylor-Johnson beat out Brad Pitt, Keanu Reeves, John David Washington and Adam Driver for the multiple role of fur-wearing big game hunter and Russian conservationist Sergei Kravinoff.

Kraven – who debuted in 1964 when Stan Lee and Steve Dikto wrote The Amazing Spider-Man #15 – was also seen killing men with spears, crossbows and primitive claw-shaped weapons.

The two-minute teaser revealed that Boston Strangler star Alessandro Nivola plays the main antagonist, The Rhino, but only his gray arm was shown.

“I only physically transform in the final moments of the film, so it’s just a classic villain role,” the 50-year-old SAG Award winner shared. THR last August without naming names.

“It had a really interesting, complex psychology and personal history to draw from, and the movie has a time jump in it, so the character changes a lot from the way he is in the beginning of the movie. It was just as much an acting opportunity as any other movie I’ve done.”

The mysterious character of Oscar winner Russell Crowe turned out to be the American-accented Russian aristocratic father of Kraven/Sergei Kravinoff.

Oscar winner Ariana DeBose plays Voodoo Priestess Calypso, who creates an herbal potion that prolongs Kraven’s life and gives him the strength, speed and senses befitting a jungle cat.

Golden Globe nominee Christopher Abbott will take on the villainous role of The Foreigner and The Pale Blue Eye star Fred Hechinger as Kraven’s half-brother Dmitri Smerdyakov/Chameleon.

JC Chandor’s Kraven the Hunter is scheduled to release in US and UK theaters on October 6.
