Aaron Rodgers is back full-time with the New York Jets, while fifth-year quarterback Tim Boyle will make his second straight start against the Atlanta Falcons.

Boyle made his Jets debut on Friday in a disappointing performance against the Miami Dolphins.

However, Jets head coach Robert Saleh told reporters after the 34-13 loss that Boyle will remain the facilitator when they play Atlanta on December 3.

“Yes, we’ll give Timmy another chance next week,” Saleh said. ‘Obviously there are things he could have done better. There are things he had no control over.

“I know he fought there. We were able to get certain calls that we were hoping for. We were able to do a lot of the different things that we wanted to do. It just didn’t reach its full potential.’

Saleh’s decision to bench Zach Wilson paved the way for Boyle’s debut.

Boyle completed 27 of 38 passes for 179 yards with a touchdown and two interceptions.

He also attempted a Hail Marry before halftime, which Miami’s safety Jevon Holland converted on a 99-yard touchdown return.

Additionally, Boyle was sacked seven times as Rodgers watched from the sidelines.

But is Rodgers now in New Jersey instead of traveling to California to rehabilitate an Achilles tendon injury he suffered on September 11?

Rodgers, who turns 40 on December 2, has been open about his attempt at an unprecedented recovery from the injury.

Ten weeks after his surgery, Rodgers hopes to practice in early December and play against the Washington Commanders on Christmas Eve.

“He’s in the building,” Saleh said of Rodgers. “If we get a doctor’s note saying he’s clear, he can practice.”

The Jets have been having a roller coaster of a season since Rodgers was injured in his debut.

Their opening night win was followed by three losses and then three wins. New York currently has a record of 4-7 after losing its last four games.

The Jets are currently third in the AFC East, while the Falcons (4-6) are second in the NFC South ahead of their meeting.
