Aaron Rodgers clearly doesn’t care about the NFL’s no-tampering policy, as he was caught saying he “can’t wait to play” with Davante Adams again on a golf course in Lake Tahoe.
The Jets quarterback claimed he would play with the Raiders wideout, with whom he played six seasons with the Packers, again while answering questions during a walk-on at the American Century Championship on Thursday.
“What’s up?” Rodgers asked first, checking his phone.
“Do you think Luke Getsy can use Davante Adams well in the Raiders’ new offensive game?” the reporter asked.
“I love Luke Gretsy, he’s a fantastic coach,” Rodgers replied. “I love Davante. I can’t wait to play with him… again.”

Some NFL fans on X were outraged by the viral footage. One of the most liked comments under the post read: “This is manipulation.”
Someone else wrote: ‘Rodgers is trying to cost the Jets a draft pick by fiddling with the draft.’
“He’s just stirring things up,” someone else noted, while others suggested Rodgers may have been referring to a round of golf with Adams.
A day earlier, on Wednesday, Adams had suggested that he and Rodgers were currently in contact and discussing plans for the 2024-25 NFL season.
“He’s in that ear, that’s for sure,” Adams revealed, referring to the 40-year-old Rodgers. “He’s in that ear… but it’s not easy…
‘Sure we can get together and talk about the old times and the possibility of doing this or that. But, like I said, I’m a Raider, so… he knows that, so… maybe the next [year].
Adams, who is in the third season of a five-year, $140 million contract with the Raiders, won’t be a free agent until the 2027 NFL season, when Rodgers is 42 years old.
It is not yet known whether the veteran quarterback will continue to play for that long.
But the NFL’s anti-tampering policy states that teams can’t approach a player under contract with another team without first talking to that team. So any potential trade for Adams would require teams to talk to the Raiders first, including Rodgers’ Jets.
