New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers seemed to suggest that those who believe his return from an Achilles tendon injury is premature simply don’t have the imagination to imagine major medical advances.

Appearing on the Pat McAfee Show, Rodgers decided to clap back at the online chatter, claiming the quarterback never really hurt himself just a few plays into his career with the Jets.

“The same people who talk about that and entertain the possibility of a conspiracy about my Achilles tendon cannot possibly fathom a world in which anything related to this wonderful, experimental gene therapy could have a problem with it,” Rodgers, 39, said. .

Rodgers added that he is aware he could retire in the coming years and wants to get back under center as soon as possible.

“All you big brains out there, let me just shoot you straight. Not many people are in the unique situation I was in,” he said.

Aaron Rodgers dismissed conspiracy theories that he had not ruptured his Achilles tendon

“I got injured on the first ride of the season, I don’t want to retire, I want to come back… My mindset from the morning after the injury was: I’m going to try to do something no one has done before.”

He added: “My time is nearing its end. I don’t have as many years left as (Warriors star) Klay Thompson or some of these great athletes who got hurt earlier in their careers. I want to get back on the field.’

Rodgers’ comments likely refer to commentary on “The Dan Le Batard Show with Stugotz,” where a member of the show, Billy Gil, asked, “Is it crazy to wonder if (Rodgers) never tore his Achilles tendon?” ‘

Le Batard himself replied, saying: ‘I would be prepared to seriously publicize the conspiracy theory. Better than the theory that Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are an NFL propaganda concoction to boost ratings.

“To put aside the conspiracy theory that since Aaron Rodgers retreated into the darkness, all he has found in the darkness is, ‘I must come back with the determination to defeat science.’

Although Rodgers has been sidelined since Week 1, the four-time league MVP has insisted he wants to return to action this year.

Rodgers claims there is no timeline yet for his return, telling McAfee he “never said anything definitive.”

“(‘Sunday Night Football’s) Melissa (Stark) talked about having a conversation with my doctor… Nothing has changed as far as my timeline, we need to be in the mix and I need to be healthy and I definitely still want to come back. ‘

The Jets are currently 4-5 and just out of the AFC playoff race. They hit the road this week to take on the Buffalo Bills.
