Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers openly criticized his teammates after their shocking loss to the Washington Commanders Sunday.
Rodgers was 23-of-35, throwing for 194 yards and two touchdowns, but the offense yielded just 14 of the team’s 21 points in the 23-21 loss.
What’s more, the Packers had only 232 yards total offense and went remarkably 0-for-6 on trailing third.
Aaron Rodgers was understandably frustrated as Green Bay lost 23-21 vs. Washington
It was an overall dysfunctional offense Sunday as the Packers rushed just 38 yards despite a terrifying one-two punch from Aaron Jones and AJ Dillon.
Rodgers kept it as real as ever when he spoke to Pat McAfee and AJ Hawk on Tuesday’s Pat McAfee show, saying there has to be some degree of responsibility for current performance.
‘Guys who make too many mistakes shouldn’t play,’ Rodgers said to McAfee and Hawk.
Rodgers and HC Matt LaFleur must straighten things out quickly if the peloton is to stay alive in the NFC
“You need to cut down on some reps,” Rodgers continued. “Maybe guys who don’t play give them a chance. We will see.’
Sunday’s loss was Green Bay’s third in a row after losing to the New York Giants and Jets, followed by the Commanders.
“We had so many mental mistakes and mistakes. It’s not the kind of football we’ve been used to playing over the years.’
Rodgers faced a terrifying defensive front last week and will be back in Buffalo on Sunday night
“There have been seasons in which we had an average of four or five, six, at most seven, sort of mental errors or missed assignments per week.
“This season much more than that every week. It’s double digits every week.’
The Packers will have to play clear if they can beat the 5-1 Buffalo Bills on Sunday night.
