Aaron Rodgers was off Thursday due to the Jets’ 21-16 preseason loss to the Browns, but the quarterback was on hand in Canton, Ohio — and spoke highly of his time with New York thus far.
After 18 seasons with the Green Bay Packers, Rodgers was traded to the Jets on April 24, and the California native seemingly couldn’t be happier with where he is today.
‘I love our team. I love the guys we have, I love the men and women who work for the organization,” he told NBC at the Hall of Fame Game. ‘
“It’s a really nice environment. I think that’s what you should do when there’s a big change in your life – you can resist or you can just jump in and surrender to the process and all the newness of it.
“And just the excitement, it’s been really nice to be around these young guys and be around a team that is really hungry – who had some success last year and obviously finished rough,” he continued.

“But the pieces are in place and (head coach) Robert (Saleh) has done a fantastic job putting together a staff that encourages these guys, that pushes these guys and holds these guys accountable.
“And I’m just a cog in that wheel and I know my role — and it’s an important one, but I’m excited to get the live ones going here, this is nice.” I mean, football is back, it’s August, it’s training camp, but it’s an exciting time of year.”
While it’s not surprising that Rodgers has raised the aspirations of a Jets group that finished 7-10 last year, he’s also become a public household name off the field in New York.
The 39-year-old was spotted attending Knicks and Rangers playoff games in May and seemed to bond quickly with Jets sophomore cornerback Sauce Gardner.

‘I love my time here. I just embraced everything in New York,” he added to NBC.
“I had great opportunities at MSG and concerts. Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran and plays There’s a lot to do. I enjoy it.’
A Jets team without Rodgers—and the rest of its starters—lost to a Cleveland touchdown with 9:33 left in the fourth quarter.
