Aaron Rodgers revealed that he tweaked his calf while speaking to the media following a New York Jets training session.

Rodgers appeared to sustain a minor ankle injury on Tuesday’s second day of the Jets’ OTAs, with the legendary quarterback hobbling to the sidelines to talk to coaches.

Rodgers headed into the second OTA session with a huge crowd of media watching, but he didn’t last long and seemed to feel a bruise in his ankle.

The former Green Bay Packers quarterback then stumbled to the side of the field, appearing to prefer leaning on his left foot, and took no further part in the session.

ESPN’s Dianna Russini later wrote on Twitter that Rodgers had said he had “pinched” his calf during his post-session press conference.

Russini had previously shared, “Aaron Rodgers aside, his ankle favored and controlled. Something is clearly not right.’

SNY’s Connor Hughes added, “Aaron Rodgers has warmed up. He went through everything and looked good. Now he goes to the side with strength coach (who looked like Hackett from 100 yards away). Don’t do much.

‘I’m not sure what happened. Maybe something modified. All other QBs have a catch.”

In a follow-up tweet, he noted, “Aaron Rodgers slowly walked over to where the other QBs are. No helmet. Not a bad limp, but seemed to favor the side. He does not work. Sit back by watching QB’s individual drills with coaches.”

A later clip showed the 39-year-old appearing to be walking freely, but it was decided that he would not take part in the session again.

Instead, he could be seen wandering the field, single-handedly observing training from the sidelines.

Earlier in the session, Rodgers came onto the field and warmed up in uniform, but quickly moved to the sidelines as team drills began, assessing and favoring his ankle.

The injury appears to be nothing serious and as it is only May 23, Rodgers has plenty of time to get up to speed with his new teammates ahead of the session.

In fact, Rodgers often didn’t even show up for the Packers’ OTAs – which aren’t required.

Organized team activities began on Monday and Rodgers participated in practice, with the Jets tweeting photos and videos of the quarterback throwing passes.

Tuesday’s session was the first with media present, and several dozen reporters showed up to see Rodgers practice for the first time as a member of the Jets.

New York acquired Rodgers, the No. 15 overall pick and a fifth rounder in this year’s draft from Green Bay on April 26. In return, the Packers received the 13th overall selection, a second rounder, a sixth rounder, and a conditional 2024 second-round Pick that could become a first-round pick if Rodgers plays 65% of New York’s games this season.
